If you have a mask on and it protects others by keeping the virus in. Why can't that same mask keep the virus out. Is it just one way virus?

Because such a high proportion of people pull them down (to protect their chin and neck?), Pull them up again, then lift them away to bite their nails, reuse them for days on end, and do generally stupid things they end up increasing their risk.

Agreed worn sensibility they'd be helpful in reducing the risk of catching it, but just because you are sensible unfortunately is no guarantee that others are too

Again, ignoring the different sources of the statements. You also have to keep in mind that at the beginning very little was known about the transmissibility of the virus or its lethality, but the preliminary figures gave plenty of cause for concern. Urging an abundance of caution is not panic, especially early on when the number of cases and fatalities were increasing exponentially. There's every indication that this caution is what's responsible for the leveling in the number of cases.
Correlation does not equal causation, and before medical professionals and pundits start yelling fire in a crowded theatre, they should make sure there is a fire; otherwise people are going to get hurt by the ensuing stampede.

When a warning is heeded, and action is taken that prevents a disaster, the fact that a disaster didn't happen is NOT evidence that there was never a danger and the preventative actions should not have been taken.
It isn't evidence that there was a danger either.

The only stampedes I'm seeing is towards the beaches, or the armed protestors in statehouses thinking that if they shoot the virus, or scientists, the problem will go away.

A detectable virus infection that causes tangible and trackable symptoms is not correlation. It's very legitimate causation. Auto accidents are not just correlated with drunk drivers, they are also caused by them.
It isn't evidence that there was a danger either.
An exponential rise in infections and fatalities is a pretty clear indicator of danger, except of course to those with heads in the sand.

Unless it is a properly fitted N95 the virus is small enough to go through a mask, or sucked in through gaps. However, if someone with the virus coughs or sneezes while wearing a mask it will block droplets and reduce (not stop) the distance the virus will radiate.

This is exactly why Dr. F laughed at the idea of everyone running around with masks, I don’t blame him, think of the country that does stuff like that. I find it a bit foolish to imitate them. I’m only saying this in the idea of not going anywhere in public without a mask.

Apparently this doesn't happen at Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot, or liquor stores. These stores are safe. But it DOES spread at small mom & pop shops. Isn't that amazing?

The gym owner I’m friends with don’t own a public gym it’s a studio yet he had to close, to the gov, it’s a gym. Smart folks!

I love how he throws insults back at the gov though, he’s not an anti gov guy at all, and he’s nothing like me which good for his business but says stuff like, I won’t be taking your tempature, we are adults. Boy China has really made us all look like little children, it’s not a businesses job to montior others actions.

The initial stampede was the well documented hoarding brought on by plague doctors, to which this threads title alludes to. You are also grossly misrepresenting what people were protesting about at the statehouses. Agree or disagree with why they are there, but don't misrepresent it.

A detectable virus infection that causes tangible and trackable symptoms is not correlation. It's very legitimate causation. Auto accidents are not just correlated with drunk drivers, they are also caused by them.
I was referring to your statement "There's every indication that this caution is what's responsible for the leveling in the number of cases." In some instances it may very well be, in other cases not at all. NH for instance has not seen much of this. The U.S. isn't one localized area, it's pretty big. I also doubt that the hyper vigilance is responsible for much and most mitigation efforts by level headed adults is sufficient.

An exponential rise in infections and fatalities is a pretty clear indicator of danger, except of course to those with heads in the sand.
This is an exaggeration. There has not been an exponential rise. You still can't see the difference between calling it what it is, and being a sensationalist.

Was at the gas station today and a couple anti-maskers came out and were congregating around their rusty '93 Blazer. State Cop pulled in, put on his mask and began a conversation with them. I didn't stick around but hoping some skulls got cracked open.

I'm not trolling. All you gotta do is strap on a bandanna to go in and get your big gulps and smokes. No one is commanding you to report Jews hiding in your neighbor's barn. It's really not that hard to just obey the law for a few months.

Not literally, but many are calling for similar type stuff. They are "trying" anyway, it almost seems like a test.

The key here is droplets. Unless I'm totally mistaken, the virus rides in droplets, it's not free floating on its own. They're either larger droplets from sneezing or coughing, or small aerosol droplets from just breathing. The size of the virus matters less than the size of the droplet. A mask can have a large enough weave to allow the bare virus through, but small enough to block and absorb the droplets the virus rides on. So while it's not 100% impervious, a cloth mask that absorbs moisture will provide significant protection in both directions.

This is an exaggeration. There has not been an exponential rise. You still can't see the difference between calling it what it is, and being a sensationalist.

Take a look at the chart. Through early March, the increasing number of fatalities very much resembled an exponential curve. It has since leveled out and decreased, AFTER protective measures began to be taken.

Nothing sensationalist about it, the curve follows exactly the scenario I mentioned.

Many disease' have an exponential rate of spread, the flu does. You are obviously just using exponential as a loaded term. I think protective measures have helped, just not the ones issues by the government. In fact, mitigation efforts by the government have HURT a lot of people.

Just like Trump's bleach joke, right?
I have no idea where you're going with this. I have no idea what you have against wearing masks. I have no idea how you are equating advocating wearing a mask and advocating drinking bleach. Tilting at windmills on this one bruh... it was a funny and harmless meme.

Small steps lead to big changes, and its not a law. Not 1 damn state has passed an actual "law" requiring face coverings.
By all means though feel free to fall in step and take your marching orders.

Just looked closer at that. WTF LOL. Global suicide deaths top over 1 million people every year, drug deaths account for over half a million deaths yearly and global deaths related to alcohol are well over 3 million deaths.

Elron, do you mind posting the article you got that chart from?

Exactly. Many have killed themselves since the lockdown. Suicides will soon exceed rona deaths. And not all rona deaths were due to rona. I mean, $hit, Epstein who didn't kill himself was listed as rona casualty. Then he voted democratic.

The article came from The Economist. It is a well-know globalist trash. It is funded by central bankers.

It's embarrassing in a beta way that you support tyranny cuz you think gubmint is here to protect.

A dry wall particle is 10 microns. Yet the particles can still penetrate thru an N95 mask.

It's just funny because I know for a fact he doesn't follow the letter of the law. He does it because he doesn't think certain laws are just or right. I don't think compulsory face covering are just or right, so he should be able to understand the "why".
