    Vintage York and Weider plates?

Anyone know if these plates have any additional value outside of the standard used plate cost?
Picked up the deep dish Yorks and the Weider Internationals as part of a set a while back.

    Thanks,
    Tim

Can't speak on the Yorks, but in my world, those Weiders are worth less than CAP plates. To me, the only plates less desirable are the three-spoke Weiders.

Yorks sell pretty frequently here for $0.8-1/lb but the weiders go for closer to 50 cents/lb.

Yorks are regularly for sale in my area but I've never seen the center stamped. Not sure they're an older model and therefore worth more to collectors?

Those York's are the new "Legacy" plates made in China. They are supposedly milled to within 2% of stated weight. You can see prices per lb on their website, Rogue, Buckeye etc..

Or Canada, but not in America.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I’ve seen a lot of people lately on Craigslist trying to get a premium for their “vintage” plates. I thought it was ridiculous...but maybe there is a market for them. Do people really collect old plates and pay more because they’re old? It seems like a silly thing to collect, and not sure why someone would pay more for them than any other plate of equal quality.

Good to know. I have these silly, old plates with some muscle man that looks like he is making snow angels. The rim is way too wide making them hard to grab onto. They are kind of rusty and too heavy for me to lift. Do you think they have any value besides scrap?

If you want to pay the shipping both ways, I'll grind that creepy guy off and cut the rim down a bit.

I ordered my legacy’s from Toronto, Canada and they were all “made in China “

Lathe/milled...... same thing but not really? Or same Result I suppose. Plate spins for lathe, but tool spins for milling if I remember correctly.
