POS profiteers were buying out existing inventories of hand sanitizer and bleach wipes and other high demand products so that shoppers would find store shelves empty.
They were trying to sell them on Amazon for many times their normal retail prices (e.g. a bottle of Purell for as much as $70). Amazon shut down their sales and pulled their listings. Now they are whining about it.

LOL. I hope these *******s take a big loss. It's one thing to be enterprising... it's quite another to profit off your neighbor's misery.

Wonder if buddy has a business license. Wonder if his home is zoned for business use. Would be funny if they are breaking a bunch of laws and the city and state goes in dry on them. Maybe the IRS should make sure they actually filed taxes for selling on Amazon. Also says buddy is a former military guy. Supposed to be protecting the country yet he is being a scumbag putting people at risk

Glad to see this thread hasn't attracted a bunch of die hard libertarians, who would defend this behaviour (I have genuinely read defence of price gouging from Libertarians).
Apart from the "they should be swinging from Lamposts" part, this 1 minute 30 minute video is basically how I feel about it...

You're wrong. He wasn't buying from wholesalers and becoming part of the distribution system. He was buying from retailers. He drove town to town to buy out their supplies so that people who needed/wanted those items couldn't get them at their local retailers. Instead of being able to get those items within minutes, they now had to pay a premium price for them and wait a day or more for them to be delivered. If it's a medicine (such as Excedrin or Nyquil), then waiting is a problem and prolongs suffering.
There are also laws against what these people were doing. During a hurricane, the only lumber yard in town can't all of sudden start charging $500 per sheet of plywood."Buy a man eat fish, the day, teach man, to lifetime." - Joe Biden

It's unfortunate that he and some others already made a profit.
This article does one of two things:
a) what he hopes -- some mass distributor will pick up and buy his supply off of him
b) someone (or a large group of individuals, preferably those in need) comes down and forcefully takes his supplies
here's hoping b happens.

I hope this bankrupts him. I'm a die-hard capitalist, but I can't stand people trying to price gouge essentials during a pandemic or during disasters. So many families, non-profits, elderly, etc., could have benefited from these supplies, but bitches like him try to defend a condone such despicable behaviour.
