    Post Dudes - drawbacks to mesomorph body type?

    I know some dudes don't necessarily agree with body type classifications like it's black and white, but what do you think, as a dude, are the drawbacks to having a "mesomorph" body type?

    Good point. A couple of years ago, I used to swim a bit as well as lift here and there and HGH levels were slightly elevated, so torso got "a bit longer" and arms elongated "slightly" too. Levels of hormones do sometimes change a man's appearance...

    Can end up looking too bulky/powerlifterish.

    Nobody wants big ass woman calves and legs either.

    Never a good look when you combine the two, especially holding little more body weight.

    Woman lust over long framed, lean type look, having a mesmorphic frame like the above will also make your face less aesthetic.


    However some mesmoorphs have the exact right ratio, and when they do there is nothing that can beat them, almost 0 disadvantages.

    men who are naturally muscular have high testosterone levels from the womb. it even affects how the body and face is shaped. HGH will give you more muscle cells and thicker bones.

    no use comparing a guy with low HGH low density muscle fibers to someone with dense muscle fibers from good genetics.

    What do you mean? I'm an ectomorph and it's in my genetics. You can't change joint sizes etc.

    somatotypes aren't really a thing or useful, like you don't need a special routine from everybody else. some skinny "ectomorph" could lift weights and years later and some dudes be like you have lots of muscle you must be a "mesomorph".

    lifestyle, how much you eat, level of activity all comes into it. some skinny guys just have super high NEAT levels where they need to compensate this by eating a chit ton of calories. some guys have low NEAT levels where the act of staring at food causes them to gain weight lol.

    had a skinny brah friend that swore to god no matter how much he ate he couldn't gain weight because he was an ectomorph. turns out he was working a job where he was walking anywhere from 40K-60K steps. And when he finally tracked calories he was only getting around 2500 on average. Dude quit his job and started eating more a few months later and went from 120 lbs to 150 lbs in 3 months.

    It's also genetics and genetics are too variable to separate into 3 categories which are ultimately meaningless when it comes to lifting.
