For someone who buys and holds is it time to go all in or can the stocks get sweeter?

I have a Fidelity Roth and a Charles Schwab brokerage account. I just wanted to pick a target fund date and forget it. But the brokerage has all these options for ETF's and stocks. What should I be buying and how much? Also I have no clue on the order limits, market stop, all these options you have when selecting what to buy. I just want to fukkin buy and hold.

    Help!

For someone who buys and holds the main question you should be asking yourself is, do you think the stock market will be worth more in 30 years, or not. Hint, historically the stock market averages 7%+ per year.

Once you accept this. You understand if your strategy is buy and hold for a long term investment. The time to buy is always now. With many online brokerages going to commission free trades. I'd suggest buying in every week. If you can't put enough money forward every week, then every month. As far as the current market down turn (or any other in the future) you should look at it like you're buying stocks on sale.

Most of them really aren't that cheap right now. They are just closer to what they were 4-6 years ago.

My strategy is a minimum of $250 per week right now. If that's unrealistic start out with $25 per week. Every month increase your weekly amount by $5.00. Minimum really should be $100 per week IMO.

It should be noted that billionaires and hedge fund managers have already been buying their preferred stock. They aren't waiting for the 'bottom'.

I'm not familiar with those accounts. But I'd find a S&P 500 index fund. Stock ticker: SPY and start buying. I Use VOO which is through Vanguard. Educate yourself on the market and determine if you want to branch out. But until you get at least 30K or so into the S&P 500 you really don't need to worry about anything else. IMO it's a good base and if its 30-50% of your holdings you can't go wrong.

Ray Dalio who owns a hedge fund (Billionaire) has a large holding in the S&P 500. Warren Buffet (Most famous investor in the market and billionaire) will allocate 90% of his wife's money into the S&P 500 when he dies.
