It would be a good time to start.

If you have $1,000,000 to invest, I'd spread it out over 3-4 months to minimise exposure to intraday volatility.

It’s all about dollar cost averaging right now. I have $85k cash I can invest. I put $5k in last week, putting another $5k in Monday, and I’m going to keep doing this over the next several months incrementally. If the Dow drops to $18k, I’ll probably put a big $30-$40k chunk in.

Those would all be decent buys, but I wouldn't pull the trigger on Amazon or Alibaba unless they drop lower. I'm hoping Microsoft takes a tumble but its really holding up quite well.

Based on a few stocks I've been watching. If I bought with today's prices and the stock rebounds back to where it was pre CV19 I can damn near double my money. I'm also exercising patience because I don't think we are anywhere near the bottom yet. Currently trying to invest $250-300 per week on red days. When I think we are at the bottom and a recovery is here I'm going all in with the rest of my available cash.

I've been watching Shell Oil, Delta Airlines and Carnival Cruise Lines. I also most likely will go in on Tesla. I think Tesla is going to be around a long time and they are going up. I've always tried to stick to Index funds but I feel like this is the kind of opportunity that can leap-frog me ahead in the market by 10+ years.

They can go pretty low. But they will rebound. You get rock bottom prices by investing weekly when the market is in the red a small amount each time. So if you have 100K in cash you don't go put 100K in the market tomorrow. You might do 5-10k per week, every week. If it looks like the market is going back up you go all in.

Obviously most of us don't have that much liquid to drop. So for me I'm investing $250-300 per week on red days until I think its at the bottom. Then I'm dropping everything I can.

buy in 4 to 5 groups. I bought some last week. I'll buy again when I think the market can't go any lower, and again when the market starts going back up.

    This.

I'm taking the DCA approach for the cash I have on hand. I put in about a grand 2 days ago, yesterday a few more grand, invested a few hundred more today. Looking to spread it out more, but looking to put a lot in and switch my retirement accounts thru my employer to 100% for a few months I think. I'm not sure how much I'll do, but I think $10k-20k this year isn't out of the question.

Futures are already tanking hard, its only a matter of time as several stocks are already hard tanking and we haven't even gone national quarantine and have had mass deaths, looting etc. It is unfortunate but the only way is down as companies that deal with consumers are bleeding and their stocks rapidly tanking.

Also, Crazy how some retard in this thread negged me for saying to buy puts, must be some bull boomer going bankrupt as his 401k tanks! Hell, when I posted that on Friday after donnies pump/ speech we had one of the worst stock market days in history on that bloodbath Monday, I'll be laughing with my puts as SPY continues headed towards red!

The fed gov have been pumping TRILLIONS into futures, trying to slow the descent and Trump literally pumps the SP 500 with every speech,
and then it tanks (as we are headed towards a recession, and many of the things he says have no true substance), you are missing out on free money by not buying SPY puts, selling them when the market tanks and then buying more after they rally only for it to tank again.

4/17 230-220 puts or even 200 if you cant afford the prems rn are literally free money option trading Hell even 180s will give good yields by then. 3/27 have higher yields but of course more risky. If you are already a rich ****, 245-240 puts are golden after a rally and pump.

For the unknowing, SPDR 500 aka SPY tldr is pretty much the futures of american economy, so boomer 401ks, faith in fed gov etc, also puts are available with option trading and generally, you make money when stock goes down. call you make money when goes up

Option trading is easily accessible to anyone and much better than simply buying/selling stocks, in this market.
Robinhood(simplest) TD Ameritrade, and many other apps as well allow you to option trade.

Truthfully I wouldnt even be touching stocks for long calls until after we've truly seen the market tank after events like national quarantine etc.

Option premiums are sky high due to vol, and buying puts in an extremely oversold market isn't smart at all.

Don't buy puts in a bearish stockmarket headed towards recession, as companies across multiple industries headed towards bankruptcy, asking for bailouts, country is in the midst of a pandemic, millions of workers are headed towards being unemployed(if not already).. What?

The market won't go straight down. I didn't say don't buy puts, I am saying don't buy puts right now. Wait for the bounce.

Don't buy puts. Big moves already over. Try deeeeep OTM calls that are 3-4 months minimum. Das my only advice.

I'd rather be selling puts and taking advantage of the enormous premiums.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to buy/sell options while working at my current job.
