    wish someone told me this about squatting earlier. tried highbar for the first time

    injured my wrist benching so I couldn’t do lowbar anymore. the bar would roll into my palm and give me pain that would make the bar slip off my back. had a history of knee pain so I hated doing squats but pushed through the pain

    tried placing the bar in the high bar position so I wouldn’t have to stabilize the weight across my back. was a bit harder to squat the weight but I felt no knee pain for the first time in months; even now my knees don’t hurt nearly as much as they used to.


    no one ever told me this, wtf

    try doing trap bar and rack pulls. I know a few old guys at my gym who do them in substitute of squats and conventional deadlift

    I took a year off from the gym just doing rack pulls and didn’t lose too much deadlift strength.

    My nikka rack pulls are gay as fuk, I can still clean 315 i aint doin no rack pull. Trap bar deads are legit tho

    I lift outside in dirt lol. Lifting is not that cool anymore, would rather box or sprint. I hit most of my lifting goals long ago

    I remember once when I hurt my back, I had just been low bar squatting around 750 for sets of 5. Decided to try high bar, wow, why didn't someone tell me about this? Could only get up 625 for a set of 12, but no knee pain. Wish I had known about high bar back squats!
