    Extending the peace pipe.

Warren drops out and we have Crazy Joe and Angry Bernie extending the peace pipe to the former Indian in an effort to garner her endorsement. Funny how the left screams about inclusion and acts as if they despise old white men and yet have 2 ancient relics as there only viable candidates.

Is she the only remaining candidate in your election who ever goes in a gym? Politicians aren't often physically impressive (yes I haven't forgotten the governator) but you guys seem to have a particularly feeble crop this time round This is bodybuilding.com shouldn't you be discussing which candidate can perform lifts?

But it has always amazed me that despite having a huge population the US seems to come up with a small pool of marginally qualified candidates in every modern election.

Flex, this is the best observation to show that the goat guy no matter how much the folks around here dog his thinking (especially pro military, former etc) there is absolute truth in what he says, like it or not.

Not given much of a choice. With an incumbent reelection rate around 97% means not much new blood gets into the Big Show for standard President material. You see Mayor Pete getting criticized by lifer politicians for lacking experience when they themselves are the ones holding up the seats. So we have dinosaur politicians like Dianne Feinstein seeking reelection at 84 and they wondered why the younger voter turnout is so low. Hard to relate when they are older than your grandparents.

Well that's a good argument for term limits in Congress, but the presidency already has term limits and we're still seeing the same thing from both parties. The problem is deep, structural, and fundamental.

I agree term limits aren’t the answer. We need to address the reasons incumbents have so much success- gerrymandering, campaign finance, general election reform, etc.

It will go just like the last election, the Russians and Trump will quietly prop up the least likely to succeed, only to drop a bombshell about the opponent (true or not) before voting commences and thereby rig another election.

Don't you mean that a moron at the DNC will click a phish email and provide creds, because that's what happened. Around the same time they released an old tape recorded conversation with Trump stating that "he could grab women by the pussy". It's obvious what the Americans wanted fair and square, WWE, T&A action.

The same way Trump, up until election night, kept saying the election is rigged? That defense mechanism?

There is no doubt Russia wanted Trump to win. Putin flat out said it. There is no doubt Russian troll farms were the purveyors of misinformation (Pizzagate, HC on her death bed, ect). The only argument I can see is if it had a real impact on the election. I think it had some but the left also was running a dumpster fire of a candidate.

Also, FTR, I don't think Trump himself had anything to do w/Russia but I do believe there were people in his camp who through back channels encouraged and aided in the misinformation campaign. Regardless, IMO Trump wins easily in Nov.

Well, he kinda had a point. Look at what the DNC did to Bernie in 2016. Not to mention Hillary being fed debate questions by CNN before the debates etc.

Oh I agree. The DNC is a joke and I can't believe anyone would be OK with what they did or trust the process now. Look at whats happening again w/ Bernie?

However, he wasn't really talking about that. He was talking more about voter fraud ect and using the whole "rigged" as an excuse because we all know he didn't expect to win.

Also, how does Donna Brazile even have a job? And on FOX? Strange times we live in.

I still have a hard time buying into the russian preference to trump. Mainly due to how easily the libs could be manipulated by the Russians.

I don't. Trump has strong ties with Putin. He backed off Kim, pulled out of Syria, trying to pull out of Afghanistan. The Ukraine had ties with the Dems as well.

But I don't buy that as the reason Hilary choked. Her ego cost her IMO. She could have won if she'd appealed a bit more to the rust belt voters. She went for the popular vote instead of the EC and she lost because of it.

Good point. I still think looking at the two choices he preferred Trump over HC. She likely would have continued the Obama policies.

I think we've argued this point before. Term limits aren't THE answer, but I think they are PART of the answer. As are the other items you mentioned.

However, in my deeper opinion, all of this is merely bandaid application. When I say the problem is structural and fundamental, I'm talking about the very definition of the institution as defined in the Constitution. It was put together before there were organized political parties, and it failed to anticipate them. It also failed to anticipate the role of organized money (which the Supreme Court has already pretty much shielded from any meaningful campaign finance reform).

Our very form of government is rotten to the core, and no longer works for either the will of the people nor their benefit. The Constitution has some parts that could still be salvaged, but in the main, it has outlived its usefulness. If it were up to me, humble megalomaniac that I am, I'd put a new one together from scratch.

For the most part I agree. She never really took the campaign seriously, and approached it as the ceremonial prelude to a coronation. The election was hers to lose, and she lost it.
