    Chicken Breast -Shelf life in fridge once cooked?

    What do you guys think is the shelf life of chicken breast or even thighs once you cook them and put it in the fridge? I try to meal prep Sunday for the week.

    OP, you SHOULD be fine if you're cooking it thoroughly and storing it in the fridge for a week. I've done it many a time.

    You'll be fine, I do it as well. If you are still concerned, you can always put 2 or 3 in the freezer that you'd eat later in the week and put it in the fridge the night before.

    Every week I cook chicken on Sunday that I eat throughout the week. Meals are packed for the M-F work week, and anything leftover might be eaten over the weekend. On some occasions I've even eaten that same chicken the following Monday (8th day) if I didn't get around to cooking again on Sunday. For me, the 8th day is the absolute longest I'll trust it, though I usually eat it by the 7th day or I don't.

    Much depends on how cold your fridge is. I live on the stuff and a week is fine. You can always put a couple in a ziplock and thaw the day before you need em and then you don't have to worry about it.

    I'm the type of person who can eat any leftover out of the fridge without any issue thinking its gross. But one of my best friends won't touch it even if its been in there for 5 minutes. Different strokes, different folks lol
