Nowhere in my post did I hint at being biased against Asian Americans, I said we should not open travel to/ from China and ban Chinese nationals to enter the country when their fuking government is hiding the number of infected and there are reports of people getting re-infected with the government not treating them.

Seems like either their fatality rate is extraordinarily high or they aren't diagnosing most cases. Assuming 1% fatality rate, 20 days between infection and death, and 20%/day growth, they might have 2.2M infected already. Something is off. Germany has 260 deaths and 43.5k cases. A factor of 9 difference.

they are reporting every single case ,nothing strange or extraordinary , some countries are presenting a higher dr vs infecties .... its just the destruction rate is more deviated from the narrow bell curve every one been talking about.


people still think they can predict what this virus can do .... they cant , no one can... pretty sure in the next week or two we will be seeing numbers that we havent seen before

I don't think anything with teeth was enacted till like 3/20 honestly. Thats when Executive Order 102 came out that really started to clamp down. If I had to guess I would hazard a very uninformed wild ass guess that maybe 20-30% of residents had already been voluntarily social distancing from mid March, ramping up to where we are now. Even now I believe there are still plenty of folks trying to skirt the rules. It's a culture thing, you can see it here on the misc. We are just not cohesively taking this seriously as a culture for any number of reasons. Sad, but true.

Okay 1) As much as I dislike the idea of a THIRD (30th?) thread for this topic, we really should get into a chat thread and let this thread be for posting actual content and updates.

2) There has certainly been harassment of Asian Americans in NYC and around the country, and I'm sure its the same in Canada. He made a poorly phrased example trying to point out that genetics/ethnicity do not make you part of the CCP.

3) On the flip side, China should be held accountable for this, and it will unfortunately affect Chinese citizens who may not be directly responsible in any way.

I'm not going to respond to this topic in this thread again, perhaps we should jump into the speculation thread or start a COVID-19 Chat thread.
