I take a fully crowded train twice a day (at least until the weather gets better and I can start using my scooter) here in NYC and I am not one bit worried or concerned.
I think this sh!t is over-hyped, but that's just my take on it, there is too much living to do than to be worried sh!tless over this.

Birds don't worry about dying, because they're too busy living, finding food, building nests, etc. I did a big shopping at Walmart yesterday and there were lots of people and no one was wearing a mask and there were no shortages of anything. The shopping was after I visited 3 'seniior' residences and probably touched a hundred door knobs. When I say "70 isn't old", I ****ing mean it!
P.S. Of course, I didn't touch my face and I disinfected my hands when I got back to the car. Don't be worried, but don't be stupid, either.

Ok will someone please explain why we were told to stock up on water? Will the pipes stop working with a positive test? And if you are sick in the hospital, all that water at home is useless.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

IDK perhaps it is the fear of tap water going untreated. Or in case a pipe breaks and repairs can’t be made quickly. Not to long ago my city had a pipe burst that left people without water for over 24 hours and the water wasn’t potable for another 48.
Stocking up on essentials is never a bad idea, no matter when. In this case I imagine it’s less about the shortages, and more about minimizing the need to be at public places if things get worse."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

He used the virus as an example of commie, for instance there is a differnce between warning people and forcing grownups, who should be responsible for themselves that they be imprisioned for not going to a doctor, that’s a commie. Some people want that in thier lives IMO those are ones that should be taxed on certain things. I don’t go to the doctor, l lift weights so I’m not like those normal folks looking for a ruler.

Turn off your vehicle and wait for further instructions
Ambo pulls up to cart you off to quarantine
Well, sht, that backfired
I don't know why anybody would tell you to do that for a virus. I see no reason.
But, in general, "prepping" has water as a Tier 1 requirement/suggestion, because potable water is so critically important. A day without water might be too long depending on circumstances, even in the best circumstances, a few days and you're done. Try not to think of being prepared in general as thinking about specific scenarios and specific needs and only getting what you would need for that specific circumstance. Crystal balls are often not accurate. Start with the 'basics' of stuff that people need. Water is pretty near the top of that list.

Well that's what the data shows thus far (in a Chinese cohort) per this infectious disease conference. Low coinfection rate in adults, higher in pediatrics. Obviously relatively limited numbers of cases to go by at this point. I agree it would be worth testing if the tests are abundant and it will change management (and it will change management regarding isolation/quarantine procedures and additionally patients with severe disease have been getting Remdesivir from Gilead via compassionate use though it seems like this treatment approach may not be available much longer), but while test kits are limited it makes more sense to test adults who don't have another known virus unless there is high suspicion due to close contact with known exposure.
That said I expect all this to change in the coming weeks as it becomes much more widespread; hopefully by that point there will be enough tests availble.

Indeed. "potable water" I'm sure there are folks who have laughed at what they call 'preppers, extremists, etc.," who may not even know what 'potable water' means, before they google it. I am by no means a 'prepper,' but a week's worth of potable water seems elementary to me. Same goes, to a somewhat lesser degree, for food. I'm not going to even go into some of the other stuff that seems simple to have/maintain for contingencies. I'll let imaginations run wild.

And who says this? I've not heard this? In fact the only thing I've heard (which I'm still not dumb enough to "listen" to) is the conservatives making fun of this logic, use tap water if you can't get out.
Also what are these idiots in San Francisco doing? This is the city where the dumb ass democrats banned plastic water bottles, but plastic soda bottles are OK. Yeah, I had to write an essay about this chit, and I made sure to include how silly these people are in the essay. I sourced "the guardian" and other's who called bottled water consumption an addition. EL Judge Smails probably agrees with this garbage too? Don't ya, oh yes, I know you do.
So are these lefty people telling you to stock up on water, the very same turds who also want those plastic bottled water banned, yet they don't ban the soda because more people drink water because its healthier, not only that but drinking soda and taking the weed even in pill form can give people cotten mouth, what do you need now WATER, you stupid commie ****s.
......sure share a fountain, with the Corona virus, thats the DEM logic for ya.

Gym reasonably quiet again this morning, it's certainly not deserted but the go when they feel the whim and make it up as they go along crowd seem to be staying away.
I'm completely sympathetic with those who've been inconvenienced (that's putting it mildly if you're in Italy/China/etc), suffered themselves, and lost friends or relatives -- But so far personally (I'm in the UK)... I've only experienced positives from this, not sure how long that'll last for me, but I'm grateful for any small blessings while I get them. Wish the gym was normally like this.

I've noticed some people are doing fist or elbow bumps instead of handshakes at work. That's about the only "change" I've made as well. While the virus is real, I don't think of it as something nearly as serious as its being hyped up to be. Some of it is about media ratings, but some of it is definitely political. I've watched people completely flip from "being scared of this virus is racist" to "OMG we're all gonna die" based on what kind of political hay they found out they could make out of it.
