Srs. In 2019, I saw my GP, two different gastroenterologists and a orthopedic surgeon. Had MRI on my back, an abdominal CT, and a trans nasal endoscopy . Did I pay some out if pocket? Yes, but there were almost no wait times. MRI was on a Sunday, empty waiting room, sign in and right to the machine. Sane with the CT. I love the fact I can get these procedures done with no waiting lines or crowded doctor offices. Convince me why I should give that up for higher taxes, and convince me the government would be just as efficient.

Last time I needed a CT scan, I had an appointment and the scan done 15 mins from my house and within the hour.

Needed an MRI for something else a few months later . . . got it the next morning.

I've never known or heard of a single person that has gone broke from medical expenses. Not a single one. Also, bankruptcy exists so you don't lose your primary home.

I do, however, know hundreds of people who have excellent health insurance plans provided very inexpensively through their employer.

Why not just be honest and say it will only be better for people who don't have insurance now, which is only those who dont want it, as you can get insurance working at places like Amazon or Safeway which need employees so badly that they advertise here on the radio and hire without interviews. Starting pay? $15/hr at Amazon and $17+ at Safeway warehouse.

You can also work part time at UPS and get health insurance.

I've never known or heard of a single person that has gone broke from medical expenses. Not a single one.

I'm not going to take a side one way or the other, but i've worked in a number of hospitals and seen my fair share of individuals drowning in medical debt. These are people that are chronically ill and are in and out of clinics and hospitals on a monthly basis and have to take a cocktail of prescription meds just to function properly. These aren't obesity related issues either, these are people that have congenital defects, been in a crippling accident or are simply old...and when you get old, things just start falling apart.

On top of what I mentioned, there is a huge problem developing among the older millineals (who would be in their mid 30's) and that is the fact that they don't have health insurance because they can't afford to have it taken out of their paycheck because they have to use that money to pay for student loan debt (which cannot be absolved through bankruptcy). They're starting to get sick and are accumulating medical bills on top of their student loan debt, so they feel trapped.

These are the realizations Sanders supporters are slowly starting to realize, and there appears to be a hell of a lot of them since his rally sizes are beginning to rival trumps.

Finally, the case Tamorlane would then make to you is that the system is broken if the only way for those people to pay for medical expenses is to file for bankruptcy.
