    2020 NFL Draft

so who is hyped up for the draft. It is going to be much more interesting than past years with all these quarterbacks in free agency and the moves the teams will do, either to keep their current qb, or dump them, trade them, and move on to another qb in the draft.

    Also, anyone going?

Always hyped up for the draft but less so this year since the 49ers are picking 31st which is the worst spot to be in come draft time. And on top of that they don’t have a pick 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick due to trades.

I do love this WR class though. Lots of talent to go around.

CB class has some potential too but outside of QB that’s probably the toughest position to project into the NFL.

I want to see who trades up for Tua. He will end up being the best QB in the draft IMO.

    If healthy.

Jordan Love is this year’s QB hype. Being touted as the next Mahomes. Let’s see who drafts him. Vikings and Lions could use a QB.

Tua is Kellen Moore 2.0. He was also helped by a bunch of high pick WR's. Also his hip injury was like being in a bad car crash. He doesnt have the escapability or durability to succeed in the league these days, even if he does have the arm.

Justin Herbert is the man. He has a cannon, truly a cannon, and great athleticism.

First 10 picks is going to be crazy I think. I bet a lot of trades happen.

Dallas sitting at 17.....I'd like to see them be aggressive and move up but they'll probably stay up, draft some raw prospect that will never pan out and be off the team in 2 years.

Yeah...I may not even watch day 1. Odds of them trading out of the first is probably in the 90s. Just hope we dont get trade raped cuz everyone knows we need to recoup picks. Thankfully the 5th year option is a good incentive for a lot of teams to move up into the bottom of the first.

I think Tua is going to be a monster as long as he comes back healthy.

Looking forward to the combine and seeing what kind of 40s the WRs run. Speaking of Bill Pollian was on some xm radio show I was listening to and he said when he was GM he took off his draft board any WR to run slowern than a 4.51 forty. How the hell did this guy even succeed in the NFL?

rumors that Burrow doesn't want to play for the Bengals makes this draft even crazier than it already is. If he does want to play for them then why doesn't he just say so instead of adding mystery to the draft? If I were the Bengals I would trade down.

Mostly luck. The Bills drafted Bruce Smith right before he took over as GM. Then he failed out of Carolina in a couple years. Then by some miracle he gets a 3rd gig, on a team that just drafted a young Marvin Harrison and holds the #1 pick in a Peyton Manning draft.

He deserves credit for finding Robert Mathis, and for hitting big on some 1st rounders like Edgerrin James, Freeney, Wayne, Clark, but he was nowhere near as good a GM as his HOF induction would have you think.

did you just bypass the fact that he chose Peyton over Ryan Leaf? That alone gets him into the HOF. some of his methodology was odd to say the least but his track record in the draft was arguably better than any other GM during his time (maybe except for Ozzie)

He wasn’t the only decision maker in the room on that. More people loved Manning over Leaf and Leaf made it easy enough to tell who was more into football over the two of them.

did you just bypass the fact that he chose Peyton over Ryan Leaf? That alone gets him into the HOF. some of his methodology was odd to say the least but his track record in the draft was arguably better than any other GM during his time (maybe except for Ozzie)
Is Ryan Grigson a HOF GM for taking Andrew Luck over RGKnee?

The Manning/Leaf decision wasn't nearly as close as the media portrayed. They were always taking Manning. They just did due diligence on Leaf. Leaf didn't even want to play for Indy and skipped a pre-draft meeting with them.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

I cant wait to see how Steve Kiem fuks up this year. Last year he refused to even listen to offers for Rosen until AFTER the draft clock started. Then he took a 5'8 WR with small hands that caught a whole 2 passes when DK Metcalf was still available. I'm guessing this year he'll take one of the top WRs with the 1st round pick (even though this year its deep af at wr) instead of building the o-line. Forcing our poor manlet Kyler to run for his life all season, again.

I'd imagine you guys are favorites for CD assuming he's still on the board with the Murray connection.

That is rough man. Steelers don't have a first rounder but Minkah was worth it IMO. The Steelers are notorious for never making a splash in free agency and we don't have the best cap situation by any means. We are pretty much just stuck with our previous team unless we can get shifty and make room for a decent FA.

genuinely not sure if you guys are being srs or just have poor memory. the lead up to that draft, Leaf had the hype. Manning did NOT. Polian talking about you guys in this quote:

"There are a lot of people now who have amnesia," Polian said. "It was a much tougher choice than people now believe.

The closer we got to the draft, the louder the "noise"-- opinions from draft media analysts far and wide -- became, until it reached a crescendo. You were hearing all of the negatives about Peyton Manning: "He's a product of the system...He's not a good athlete ... He has a weak arm ... He can't win the big one." On the contrary, you were hearing nothing but accolades for Ryan Leaf: "He's a natural thrower ... He has a cannon arm ... He can make people miss when he runs ... He's the second coming of Roger Staubach."

There were actually two workouts scheduled with him -- ours and one with the San Diego Chargers, who had the second overall pick. The Chargers had been scheduled to go first, and Bobby Beathard, their general manager at the time, was walking out to the parking lot of Martin Stadium as we were walking in. Bobby smiled and said something to me like, "This guy is head and shoulders above Peyton Manning, no question about it. This was the greatest workout I have ever seen."

It should be noted that, 16 years later, Steinberg wrote in his book, "The Agent", that he suggested to Ryan to intentionally skip his meeting with us in order to discourage us from selecting him, thus allowing him to go to where Leigh said he preferred to play: San Diego.

I remember it just fine. That was the year I started following the draft and while you had plenty of people talking about Leaf's upside and big play ability Manning was the safer prospect who came with the family pedigree.

And of course Polian wants to pretend the decision was much tougher than it was to make himself look better.

Now Burrow says he will play for anyone who drafts him, Tua gets a clean bill of health and Lions shopping their pick, and Brady off too another team...this draft is going to be fun.
