https://thehill.com/homenews/campaig...-2020-campaignSen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) was briefed by U.S. intelligence officials this week that Russia is interfering in the 2020 elections to help his presidential campaign, The Washington Post reported on Friday.
The report was published the day after The New York Times reported that House lawmakers were told by U.S. officials last week that Russia was also attempting to interfere in the 2020 elections to help the campaign of President Trump.
Sanders described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “thug” in a statement on Friday in response to the report, emphasizing that he stands “firmly against” Russian interference efforts.
“Unlike Donald Trump, I do not consider Vladimir Putin a good friend. He is an autocratic thug who is attempting to destroy democracy and crush dissent in Russia," Sanders said. "Let’s be clear, the Russians want to undermine American democracy by dividing us up and, unlike the current president, I stand firmly against their efforts, and any other foreign power that wants to interfere in our election."
“I don't care, frankly, who Putin wants to be president,” Sanders added. “My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do.”
And that's how you respond to allegations Russia is meddling in our elections.
The timing of this release is interesting though, given the fact he was briefed a month ago..

God damn.. Russians just helping everybody's campaign here lately!
Bernie had his microphone taken away from him by another woman recently.. Bad for his image, so he needs to act tough.
...or at least try to. I mean it is Bernie we're talking about here lol."Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

Why won't Trump simply say he denounces Russian interference? It took Bernie all of three seconds.
But to answer the "why Bernie" questions.. obviously Trump will be the Rep nominee for the 2020 election. Sanders represents "socialism" or "communism" to the right, which further divides the country. Obviously Russia would rather have Bernie than Biden (or Hillary etc). Their primary goals are to divide us and get someone who will be the least hostile to Russia.

Welcome to the inner workings of how leftists think. Results don't matter.
Trump already knows it doesn't matter what he does they will cry cry cry about it and if he does denounce it they'll just move on to the next subject.
Trump: I denounce Nazi's
NYPat: Remember when he said there were good people on both sides!?!?!?!?
While Trump puts the toughest sanctions in recent times on Russia, Pat thinks it weighs heavier when he hasn't made a statement calling Russian's "thugs" with possibly thinking more than just one step ahead when it comes to diplomacy. I'll take results and action over this weird leftist mentality that cares about everything but.
Glad I don't put my mind through such a rollercoaster.USMC 0311

Do people really still pay attention to this whole "intelligence" thing after the Mueller melt down?
I'd also like to know how Russian interference in elections is impacting day to day people?"I am a rational animal who occupies the intermediary position between angel and beast"

if they want someone who is least hostile to russia, they would pick Bernie. Trump has been very tough on Russia, and has also done a tremendous job of building up our US millitary. Bernie wants to destroy the US millitary (and our economy), which would fall right into line to giving Russia more power.

It doesn't. In fact, it's nothing new. Russia (and others) have been meddling in our elections any way they could for decades. It actually happened much more in the Soviet days.
Think about how many elections in other countries the United States has meddled in as well.
Hyping up the meddling thing by the media and Democrats is a perfect example of lying by omission. They never put things into historical context as if this sort of thing is unprecedented.Calls 'em like I sees 'em Crew

Because facts and results matter.
Trump can say that he denounces meddling. And then what? Liberals will still screech at every thing they don't like online as "russian trolls".
We all know there is "good" meddling (Steel Dossier) and "bad" meddling (anything perceived to help the bad orange man).
In the end, there is no evidence that any votes were changed by Russians. And a multi year investigation didn't show anything involving the Trump campaign. It's Mueller time!!! lolol440+6 crew; Buccaneers Crew

progressive tax on anyone making over 29k a year? do you honestly believe that will help the economy? Bernie fawns over places like soviet russia and communist Venezuela. He does not care about the US millitary being strong. Bernie getting elected would probably be the greatest thing that ever happened to Russia in modern time.
