Every since I bought some headphones with a sd card, I have been enjoying my music instead of the same old songs in the gym. I also noticed some songs give me a boost of energy when trying to set a new personal record or make progress.
My playlist, in my humble opinion, helps me keep motivated to go to the gym and lift or do cardio but the playlist gets stale. Started this thread to share playlists but make it 10 songs that really get you going and boost your energy so that others, including myself, can get ideas because this music thing seems to work for me more than caffeine.
I am sure there are others out there that get the same boost from music so here it goes....not ranked, no special order.
1. Monster Magnet - Space Lord
2. Incubus - Pardon Me
3. Pitbull - Green Light
4. P.O.D. - Boom (excellent for that last rep!)
5. Helmet - Wilmas Rainbow (awesome when the song kicks in especially when doing deadlifts)
6. Twenty One Pilots - Jumpsuit (especially when doing Zercher squats)
7. Smashmouth - Allstar
8. Pennywise - Live While You Can
9. Rush - Working Man
10. Netsky - Smile
Well, I have more motivational songs but don't want to flood the thread with a long list. Please share your list and your experience with music in the gym!

I pick one song and listen to it throughout the whole workout. I seem to better focus on what am I trying to do this way. The song is usually metal, punk, hardcore; fast and screaming are usually good. On occasion the song just doesn't work for some reason and I have to change it. Today's song was this.
"it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

1812 Overture -- Tchaikovsky
Symphonies 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 -- Beethoven (#6 is actually my favorite, but it's more relaxing than energizing)
Peer Gynt --Edvard Greig
Oboe Concerto -- William Herschel
Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond -- Pink Floyd
The Dark Side of the Moon -- All of it -- Pink Floyd
Uptown Funk -- Bruno Mars
Uptown Girl, An Innocent Man, A Matter of Trust, We Didn't Start the Fire, Tell Her About It -- Billy Joel
Double Concerto -- Vivaldi
All of the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack -- Howard Shore
Scheherazade -- Rimsky Korsakov
If You Ain't Lovin' You Ain't Livin', Ace In The Hole, Fireman, etc. -- George Strait
Geez, I have 897 tracks on my music list for working out. Glad nobody else is listening!“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

My music is all over the place: Ann Wilson, Paloma Faith, George Michael, Doris Day, Patti Page, loads of Broadway Divas (Linda Eder and Marin Mazzie are faves), Tragically Hip and tons of other Canadian rock, and Tom Jones. Today was a Shania Twain dance marathon.
Whoever hacked into my Spotify account last year must have thought they hacked into the account of a 70YO gay man.No drama: You know where we are.

[QUOTE=BJoe;1598384401]I usually just listen to or ignore what ever the gym is playing, picked up that skill working retail for over 2 decades............I’ve also developed a general dislike for Christmas music over that time........
I used to do that because I would rather not wear headphones but without exaggerating, my gym would play the same songs at a moderately loud volume in the same order every morning at the same time which was distracting me.
Listening to the same lyrics was driving me crazy, lol. I even told them "um, do you think your older crowd at 6 AM wants to hear the same rave/edm music?"
they didn't care.

That’s what got to my with Christmas music, same songs on repeat for 4-9 hours, with the occasional “POKÉMON!” thrown in when I worked for Toy’s “R” Us when that craze his the US. I generally don’t like the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack for the same reason, the grocery and drug store I worked at prior to TRU played what became most of the soundtrack every night I worked from for 4 years straight. That said, I’m an increasingly less angsty, middle aged Gen-Xer now......
Oddly enough the gym I had gone to in the later 00’s to early 20-Teens made a switch to that and it annoyed the hell outta me, ended up buying a cheap MP3 player to use so I didn’t destroy one of value. The music at the gym I currently go to has been a mix of rap and metal with the exception of last night, where there was no music playing when I got there, even the Rave/EMD would have been better than that was.

I bought these headphones, they block out noise, wont break the bank, under 30 bucks!!, and work great!!! You just need to buy a mini memory card, so no other device needed to bluetooth from! and if they break it was cheap.
