I had been doing Stronglifts a little over a year up until last April. In April I had a medical issue that prevented me from working out. I recently got back into working out and started StrongLifts again. I was thinking that with just getting going again with SL I thought this might be a good opportunity to move beyond SL into a new program. I was hoping to get some recommendations from the community on what programs might be a good next step from SL. Would to stay on a 3 day a week program like SL. For what it is worth I am a 42 year old male. Thanks, looking forward to the responses.

If you liked Stronglifts and it fitted your goals, then the logical progression is MadCow, even Stronglifts says so!

I don’t know what your goals are, but intermediates need more volume than what templates like these promote. Madcows is solid don’t get me wrong, but the volume simply isn’t there for an intermediate. You’ll hit a wall quick and not solely due to its overreaching progression protocols, but because you need more volume. My recommendation would be to run your main lifts as per the madcows program, but include more supplemental, hypertrophy-focused work.
