She is a role model for women everywhere and should be the true face of feminism.
She was described by Pavel Alexandrov, Albert Einstein, Jean Dieudonné, Hermann Weyl and Norbert Wiener as the most important woman in the history of mathematics. As one of the leading mathematicians of her time, she developed the theories of rings, fields, and algebras. In physics, Noether's theorem explains the connection between symmetry and conservation laws.

^^ True. To disregard her is odd when at that time feminism wasn't even there

Yeah who gives a chit. But if you wanna glorify a human being as a "star", atleast pick one that actually contributed something to society, that's my take on the subject.

My understanding is Noether was the first to prove it in its full generality, making it a useful tool for field theory amd essentially eventually motivating the entire development of the group theoretic picture of the standard model.
It's possible? What was the reason then to invent lagrangian mechanics? Exactly that conserved quantities become appearent. And then captain obvious Noether comes and marks her name on it.

I personally think she saw those symmetry transformations and then worked on it and deepened the understanding of it=>more general Symmetry theorems.

isn't turing generally credited with the idea of the computer?

which was also teamwork. but he created the machine that broke enigma which was the nazi typewriter

i thought that was the basis for "computer languages" even though its certainly not java script; it's not like the intricacies of certain languages but is the foundation for it

I'd imagine most useful inventions weren't created by a single person, but rather a team. And most STEM teams are like 98% male, so you can only give any invention "by a woman" to actually be 2% her invention.

no, it doesn't. but i take issue with this sentence:

She popularized the idea of machine-independent programming languages

    turing:

was an English[6] mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher, and theoretical biologist.[7] Turing was highly influential in the development of theoretical computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of algorithm and computation with the Turing machine, which can be considered a model of a general-purpose computer.[8][9][10] Turing is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence.[11] Despite these accomplishments, he was not fully recognised in his home country during his lifetime, due to his homosexuality, and because much of his work was covered by the Official Secrets Act.

During the Second World War, Turing worked for the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) at Bletchley Park, Britain's codebreaking centre that produced Ultra intelligence. For a time he led Hut 8, the section that was responsible for German naval cryptanalysis. Here, he devised a number of techniques for speeding the breaking of German ciphers, including improvements to the pre-war Polish bombe method, an electromechanical machine that could find settings for the Enigma machine.

Turing played a crucial role in cracking intercepted coded messages that enabled the Allies to defeat the Nazis in many crucial engagements, including the Battle of the Atlantic, and in so doing helped win the war.[12][13] Due to the problems of counterfactual history, it is hard to estimate the precise effect Ultra intelligence had on the war,[14] but at the upper end it has been estimated that this work shortened the war in Europe by more than two years and saved over 14 million lives

Disagree, for all of society we had women performing a certain role which was staying at home or working part time and raising a family, clearly that would put them and future generations at a disadvantage when it came to being out there and doing chit. Maybe it's a mixture of both societal pressure and their own desires to gravitate towards a family role but at the end of the day I feel like staying home and raising a good family is just as important as inventing cool chit. Without either, society would crumble. I would also argue that without the good mothers to raise and support them, many of the men who invented stuff wouldn't have been able to.

So talking about "actually contributing to society" and using cool inventions as your only metric is absolutely haram. We should equally praise and encourage women to be good at raising a family because imo if all of them try to be like men to get your kind of recognition then we're all fukt.

No way to prove this but knowing how common man on man action was back in ancient times its just as likely that a man performed it first or at least came up with the idea first.

You're forgetting the fathers. It sounds like you think the mothers are the only ones raising their kids and you can just look at crime statistics of kids raised by single moms if you think a kid doesn't need a father.
