Weird, I don't think I've ever eaten a plain, raw cranberry before....Last edited by AdamWW; 02-17-2020 at 05:40 PM.

This. I've never tried plain cranberries. I love cranberry sauce, and I used to eat dried cranberries in sandwich wraps. One day, my body spontaneously developed an allergy to them in their dried form, and I had to go to the ER because my stomach and bowels began to spasm almost immediately after eating. It happened two times in a row before I realized I developed an allergy, so I've sworn off dried cranberries. Oddly enough, cranberry sauce is still fine. I think it was due to a preservative in dried cranberries, but I wouldn't even try it in a plain form after that experience.

I have a friend who is allergic to sulfites and has to avoid all dried fruit pretty much, I wonder if perhaps that’s the cause? Wine also contains sulfites so I’m curious if you’re also intolerant to that... maybe it’s the culprit?
Sulfur dioxide is a very common sulfite added to dried fruit to increase shelf life, but most (maybe all) organic dried fruits do not have sulfites."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"
