26 years of progress. 21 to 47 (Pic)

Just ticked another year off. Looking back and reflecting. Made a side by side comparison of me at 21 and me at 47

It is not really 26 years of training, I had a decade gap in there, but been back a solid 10 years now. (About 17 years total training with a 10 year gap)

Whats so bad about my legs? You are right they are not the best, but not exactly LOL? I have stayed pretty lean these past few years. They used to be 26 27-ish but you would be amazed at how much of what you think it mass is really fat when you dip below 10%.

    Lets see yours.

also not that impressive since you drink apple juice

I am always full disclosure. I am have not been natural last few years. I actually had real low t as the result of a bad head injury which left me with a broken neck and tbi.

I will always speak as candidly as I can within the rules of the forum.

This is a pic of my first year of training. Still lifetime natural at this point (after initially dropping 30lbs of fat). This is 100% natural. Actually I had low-t (below the bottom of the scale at the time but did not find out for a few more years)

Since going 'non-natural', I have averaged about 1-1 1/2 lbs per year. It is small enough that I cant track it in real time, but over the past 6 years is has added up. I believe that it has helped me maintain mass at lower bodyfat levels that I would have never been able to hold onto when I was natural. So I feel like It has not done anything for strength. In fact, I am weaker now than when I was still natural, but that is more a function of getting too lean.

Losing my nattie card, has indeed made a difference. But I am not out running the tour-de-france so to speak. I am unders a dr's care so that does not exatly leave me tons of room to do 'other' things.

As a comp. The upper pic from 7 years ago me full lifetime natty. And the one below is current. Draw your own conclusions. I dont take it as hate if you want to be critical. Just be honest. Too many people sell natural gains short. Not everyone needs to blast to have strength and size.

I'm sure you (like every other guy) went into assuming you'll just stay on for life but have you considered what will happen if you're required to stop your "therapy" for whatever reason?

Also, like to point this out for all the younger dudes out there. NO ONE ever would have said or guessed that I would or could be a strong or jacked person. I was a runt! I never touched a weight until a collar bone break derailed my college hockey career.

I then picked up the weights. First day in the gym, I could not even bench 135 (srs) Within 3 years I gained almost 50lbs 100% naturally. I still have the zipper like stretchmakrs that run down my thighs and through my armpits.

Too many guys sell themselves short! I had zero money for supplements or protein powders. I used to drink cooking oil to get extra cals in (srs!). I lived on ground chuck and pasta.

This was me at 18 and me at 21.

You NEVER know your training response until you get in there, train as heavy as you can and EAT like it is your job!

Not a couple years....it IS from summer though. It was the only one I have which looks so close to that pose from when I was 21 which is why I used it.

These are my most recent progress pics. Dont take all that many pics these days since not much changes..... Looking back at the "difference" in pics separated by 5 or 6 years, it is hard not to feel bummed in some ways. But I just take it day by day at this point. Hoping this summer to push just a little bit further into getting leaner to see what I can actually maintain while still living a 'normal' life.

Switching to IF just over a year ago has made a difference. I think I can push for leaner now and not go crazy in the process! Summer will tell!

Not sure why "therapy" is in quotes?. I am being treated by my family doctor who I have been with for 15+ years. Before going on treatment, I really never noticed any issues with strength or ability to gain mass...etc. I also had no sexual sides. It took me about 4 years back into training to finally figure out why I had unending fatigue though. Following my accident, I was motivated to eat better and take care of myself again. Despite this, I had crushing fatigue that would not go away. Like sleep for 12 hours and then still falling asleep in the afternoons. My doctor finally decided to check my hormones one physical and come to find out my test was below the bottom of the scale. I had the test levels of a 12 year old girl essentially. I was also hypothyroid. Apparently my pituitary was damaged in my head trauma and it was no longer signaling properly. (both thyroid and testosterone are pituitary stimulated). I would never see a reason to go off hormone supplementation. I am on thyroid supplementation as well. If I did stop, I would imagine I would feel as miserable as I did prior. But as I said before, it really did not impact me in the gym or bedroom....go figure?

I am always messing with intake. It is in my opinion the most powerful tool we have at our disposal. Whether you are natural or otherwise. I have tried all kinds of things, carb cycling, fat cycling, 2+ years of Cyclical keto, straight up IIFYM...etc

Currently doing IF and LOVING it! I have recently started something I am calling 'sugar bulking'. I am introducing VERY LARGE simple sugar boluses at certain timing intervals and seeing what impact it has. Too early to tell, but while I am a firm believer in IIFYM and cals in cals out, there are SMALL differences, especially as you get lean to nutrient timing. Since I have exhausted almost any avenue of progress, I now play with small things over a large period of time and see if they work.

Currently, I believe I am on to something.....but I wont know till summer.

She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

Well you might not see a reason why you would ever have to stop but someday your cardiologist might have a different opinion.

I'd imagine you'd feel a lot worse than you did before depending on how long you were on.

Either way. Appreciate your honesty and good luck.
