Classic dumbbell vs barberll bench thread

I've been incline pressing (lowest setting though, so probably in between normal incline and flat) 105 lb dumbells for 5x5. I have to be able to bench 225 for at least a couple right? Haven't done barbell in forever cause no spotter and hate setting up in the squat rack.

Setting up in the rack is super easy once you get used to it.
I dumbbell bench 80s for slow reps of 8 and bench 225 for sets of 8, so I guess you'd be repping more than 225 after a few weeks to work on the motion.

True, I'm currently on a cut still so probably won't switch any time soon (12-15 weeks out). Hopefully I maintain all my pushing strength and can ramp up quickly once I switch over though. You think the first day back I should work down to max effort 3-5 reps? Or just take it easy with something I know I can bench, (at least 205, 2 years ago and 20 lbs ago) and slowly ramp up each week?

You will probably get 8 reps of 225 in your first set if you warm up properly and give it all you've got.
