Can a bachelor's in computer science get you a cryptography job at CIA?

I'm curious because I am debating between bioinformatics or a career in network security. Do you need a PhD in math/Cosi to get jobs like that at the CIA? Or do they take bachelor's degrees if you're good?

No Joke. You don't find them they find you. CIA jobs aren't exactly posted on ziprecruiter. If you have skills they are looking for the hardest part is passing the psych and security clearance requirements.

Except you know...they are posted for everyone to see and apply to:

    https://www.cia.gov/careers/opportun...obs/index.html

OP, take a look at the requirements for the job you are interested in and assume that you are competing against people that have that experience + a lot more (plus those that the CIA recruits themselves)

The CIA used to recruit at my college in undergrad (a state school) for undergrad science majors. Not sure if its the same for comp sci but it probably is.

Damn, some of those job positions sound bad ass but pay a measly 100k. I imagine once you're in the door your earnings have a high potential if you prove yourself very useful.

View CIA and other similar positions as side projects. It's worth applying to if you're seriously interested but don't view it as more than one of a million options. It can take upwards of 3-4 years to get adjudicated depending on this position so you have to have a solid career plan and other job anyway.

    Short answer is "Yes"
    Long answer is "Depends"

It's true that they find you but if you're truly interested, you can definitely build a resume that will get you hired.
I cannot be held responsible for which of my posts you choose to believe. You have been warned.
