So, I've ultimately decided to get the car in a manual. Its being shipped from Colorado (becuase they're so hard to come by) and will be here by the beginning of March.

I figure, everyone in Europe drives manual by default. Hell, I think they even have to know how to drive one to pass their drivers test. As for the negatives in this thread, I've never heard such complaints from the folks across the pond with regards to manuals and their traffic can be pretty nasty at times as well. If these problems truly were rampant, wouldn't automatics be more popular over there?

Also, this is a newer manual so there are features that let you cheat as a means of convenience (no need to double clutch, "Hill-Assist" prevents you from rolling back if you're parked on a hill etc)

    I think i'll be okay.

yikes, probably not a good idea. That sounds like a good way to wear out the clutch prematurely.

I mean congratulations! and I hope it works out for you.

I'm saying it wasn't a pleasant experience for me (imagine being late and in a hurry for over an hour and a half, or tired and mentally exhausted, or worse yet; pissed off by something completely unrelated). There are positives to say too, but fuk it; here's to you having a better experience OP

P.S. I believe wearing down the clutch is much safer than wearing down the brakes, peace

The new dct autos with paddle shifters are better than manual in every way. Seamless instant shifts.

    This.

Also auto's with a TC are still good, like the ZF 8 speed. That's why almost every manufacturer uses them. It's incredible. And i'll have the ZF in my scat pack in about a month. That's if i don't cancel the order and get a used hellcat instead lol. But the hellcat has the ZF too so i'm good there.
Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

I have a manual car but auto IS WAY BETTER THESE DAYS. ACCEPT THE FACTS BRAHS! LOL

Do you guys see what you're posting?

OP, if you're OK driving manual, just go for it. If you prefer automatic anyway, get that. Simple as that.

Have driven cars in traffic, original clutch past 100K miles, no issues. Honda clutches are very light anyway.
bold part sums this up. if you prefer manual, get that; if not, then dont.

my little clapped out truck is a manual and has been more or less un-driveable for the past 2 years - the clutch slave cylinder is toast and so the clutch is essentially inoperable. i drive this truck as my daily right now and have for the past year that ive been in boston. 2.4 mile commute within the city, could be 12 min or 45, imo the worst city in the world, especially to drive in. still do it tho and wouldnt care to own an auto car. if its what you want then youll find a way to make it work.
