How many of you car guys are Mopar enthusiasts/owners? If you own one, Let's see it. If you dont, let's see what you'd like to own one day. Discuss anything Mopar related.
Currently own a 2019 Challenger Hellcat. A8 and rear seat delete.
My dream car though is a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T

Always a fan of mopar. Because they have similar traits (in terms of engine sound and layout) as the chevy LS/LT products which is why i decided to lease a charger.
It's still being "built" but i expect to have it by april latest. Hopefully in march i can have it.
I didn't get the hellcat, even though i wanted to, because it might be an overkill for a daily. Plus i don't drive much of my leases anyway. I always give the lease cars back with tons of mileage left lmao. So i didn't think it was worth the higher lease payment (150 more per month), the extra insurance (80 bucks more per month), the extra gas it'll drink and the other stuff. Like tires, constantly going WOT possibly resulting in tickets etc lol.
I decided on the charger scat pack. Only option i got was the dynamics package. I'll post pics when i get it.
But i'm soo mad i couldn't get the car in destroyer grey, it's not available in 2020.
Hopefully there's going to be a redesign in 2022? Then maybe when my scat pack lease is up, i may lease that redesigned hellcat charger.

That's all I've owned, with a little AMC mixed in. My current daily is a 2012 Chrysler 200 Touring in black. Being a Touring with the exception of the HD equipped radio and factory 7 spoke 18's it's one step above your typical rental chrome trim and interior parts wise, but has the flex fuel 283hp V-6 and 6 Speed auto from the Caravan, Town&Country, FWD Journey, and Ram Promaster, but in a 3600lb grocery getter making it a bit of a sleeper. Got a few goodies and plan on getting more to put on it this year and have found that for any kf these with the 18's, a good UHP A/S tire in 235/50R18 is one of the best things you can buy for these cars.
I still own the '98 XJ Cherokee (the AMC part) in Moss Green Pearl with the 4.0l/AW4/NV242 trio that I had when I first joined here, but may be selling it at some point, as it needs work and we don't really have time to give it the attention it deserves.
Prior to that, I had an '85 Lebaron GTS turbo sedan (another little sleeper car and also in black), '88 Shadow ES turbo coupe (which never ran like my Lebaron did, and was the oddball in color, being bright white), and '94 ZJ Grand Cherokee, which which was also painted black (noticing a trend here), although I totalled that after 6 months of ownership.....

No such things as overkill for power lol
I was glad when Dodge brought back Sublime for 2019. I was worried it would be a one year only color and I'd have to find a hellcat that's been beaten on before I got it. I wouldnt compromise on any other color. I had to have a sublime hellcat.
Redesign I think is 2021 for challenger and 2023 for charger

You're right but for my daily duties, it probably would be overkill. Or at least a waste since i'm not a maniac when i drive during the week, i save that for the weekend lol.
I couldn't justify the extra 300-400+ bucks a month going with the hellcat when i would probably drive it about the same as i would with the scat pack. And also this is going to be a year round car, i will drive it in winter too. I already spec'ed out hellcat replica wheels with snow tires already, ready for next winter haha

He’s rich I guess you could say. Owed a Bricklin , a Pantera and now has a 2006 Ford GT .
He does race cars , and it always made me wonder how he messed up . Guessing the 440 magnum was too much for him, rear end broke lose and he skidded down the road sideways into a telephone pole . Passenger would have been dead if they sitting in the passenger side seat .
Could be wrong , but thinking back now I believe his Charger may have been yellow with black stripes .
Have to see if that was an option back thenLast edited by MajorTendonitis; 01-01-2020 at 05:02 PM.

The trackhawk is what i would get if i wanted an SUV. That truck is amazing. I love the mopar stuff a lot.
But yeah i didn't think it was worth the extra money going with the hellcat, even though i love that car. Although when it gets redesigned, and my scat pack lease is up, i am definitely going to consider that. But for now, i'm happy with the scat pack lease. I can't wait to get it.

Probably more. The 6.4's make awesome NA builds. But i'm not going that route. It's staying stock, at least from a "power" perspective. I already have tires that i wanna swap out to get rid of the pirelli p-zero tires it comes with stock, and tints and that's it. Not even going to do the mid muffler delete that everyone is doing because it makes the car sound like a UPS truck lol. The stock sound is puuuuuurrrrrrrrfekkkkttt.

Probably isnt used to driving a car without traction control in it
scat packs are almost tapped out from the factory. A cam job is really expensive if you dont do it yourself. Having to buy non-VVT lifters and the labor to get it done, you're looking around 4k for maybe 60whp increases.
I loved my scat pack, but I knew it wouldnt be able to get to where I wanted to be. A hellcat for me was going to be cheaper to upgrade in the long run

SRT392 in the Phantom black. they do not do the phantom black anymore for some reason. they also do not do the SRT with a 392 anymore. I baby this and do not go to the track. kept stock:

daily driver is an '11 ram 1500 i post about on here often. still going strong. pulled the chrome steps off of it and upgraded the tires to the KO2. otherwise, stock.
dream ride would probably be a '70 challenger with the 426. i like the old barracudas and roadrunners too.

Youtube videos don't do it justice. I've heard my car with the same exhaust mods on youtube and it sounded weak.
In person it will make your ears bleed.
And yes i've heard scatpacks in person. My coworker has one. Which is making me sick because he has it and i don't have mine yet lol. He knows i'm getting one so he rubs it in my face every phucking day lol.
Soon though...

I need to inform myself more on the mopar stuff, since i'm technically part of the family come spring lol.
But what is the exhaust differences between the 392 and the hellcat?
Meaning is dodge using high flow manifolds or some different exhaust routing to give it that "raw" loud factory sound?
A stock hellcat sounds like it has long tubes is basically what i'm saying lol. It sounds incredible. The 392 sounds amazing stock, but still sounds muffled obviously.
And an RT with the 5.7 sounds too muffled. Like a UPS truck.

the stock headers can support upwards of 1200HP. SRT headers flow very well, but they're also heavy.
I bought a set of Hooker Blackheart shorty headers for my hellcat because they can cut 16lbs (even more once I go catless) from the front end. Just waiting to send them off to JET-HOT so I can get the 3000 degree coating to protect the supercharger from heat.
Headers on hellcats are a waste of money pretty much, but I wanted a little weight reduction and the jet-hot coating will do very well for heat managementWorst jew in the world.
