    To answer your question in simple terms, they drive completely different. Go try both and you'll see why there are die hards on both sides. It's not always about HP.

    It's a cab space thing for me. As much as I love the new bodystyles, I don't fit in them. Rented one when I was out in Cali for work last week and felt like a bear riding a tricycle driving around in it.

    ~380 HP same as the BMW Z4 (but still faster) but I understand what you mean. I feel like I could daily drive the supra whereas the vette is more of a weekend car. On top of that... I've always wanted a supra since I was a kid. I guess it's just preference. Honestly I want both lol, I just don't know if I could justify spending an extra 15k for the vette with all the options I want. I'm finding supras near me for around ~50k w/ premium package.

    Looked at a Supra not long ago. It really just seems like a chick car to me. Much like a 370Z. Miata. S2000. Etc. Guy at my gym has one. He's about 6'2 220lbs. He just looks incredibly cramped and uncomfortable getting in and out the car.



    I'm only 5'8 185lbs and I feel a bit cramped in cars that small. Blows my mind when normal sized males choose to drive something that compact. Regardless of how well they handle.

    Yeah they phucked up big time selling out to BMW. And i know those engines are pretty stout so it's a shame it didn't make more power from factory.

    With GM, i believe they're going all in. The base stingray will get the last pushrod V8 and the rest of the lineup, (aka the high performance models) are going to get the DOHC 5.5 V8's, of different variations.

    NA 5.5 for the z06. Twin turbo 5.5 for the ZR1 and the twin turbo 5.5 with a hybrid assist for the zora making 1000hp in awd form.

    They are not playing around this generation and it's exciting, whether or not you're a corvette fan.

    I just can't wait to see what the widebody C8 looks like. The stingray body looks good but weird because the fenders and those little tiny wheels they have. The rear end looks better with the fender flares as shown in the C8R. The narrow body C8 is adequate, for those old men who just wanna park on the lawn at car shows sitting in their lawn chair smiling.

    The widebody high hp monster C8's are for people who like going fast.

    But if you take all the legendary models. The GTR of the supra MKIV days (the 90s), the corvette during the 90s, the NSX of the 90s.

    All those models now have gone through a gigantic transformation, with a HUGE jump in power.

    The "supra" went from a real supra with the 2JZ at what? 300-320hp? To this new BMW supra rated at 335hp???? LMAO

    The NSX went from like 280 to 600+

    GTR went from like 280 to 500+

    Corvette went from like 300 to 485hp.

    Supra got an amazing 15hp bump in a 2 decade span lol

    I don't know why people keep saying it's 330 HP, it was stated numerous times it's been dyno'd at least 50 hp more than what Toyota advertised but I still get your point.

    Toyota wanted to make the supra affordable... The GTR and NSX are SUPERCARS at SUPERCAR prices. If you're going to make the cars cost more 100k than you best make a significant bump in power.
    All that being said, I'm not happy the Supra isn't 100% toyota made but the direction the industry is going, it makes sense for them to partner up I guess.

    yeah chit sucks. I'm 6'3 220-230lb and that was the overwhelming experience when I drove a porsche cayman. Thing is just fukking tiny, no room for my angus.

    I do like the cawkpit to wrap around me though, like my Golf R is perfect for me and I've been in the Audi S3 and that's fine too. It's just super easy to go from hnng wrapped around to too tight

    The C8 stingray is affordable, and that has over 150hp more. With the engine in the back. Singing a much better note.

    Regardless if it has dyno'ed 50hp more. So it's what now? 380hp?

    380hp for a modern days sports car, using everything BMW, for 55k or so, isn't exactly something worth bragging. Might as well get a BMW M340I which is VERY fast that what people think.

    I just think they could've done better. At least power wise. If they had to jack the price a bit, so be it. If you're going to compete within a market that's very tough, do it properly. You don't make the price "around" the same price as the C8 base and expect it to do well, especially when targeting a broader audience. The people who will buy supras are people who just want to stay loyal to the supra history and/or people who really want a sports car on a budget as it is the cheapest option of every car mentioned.

    I like the car, but i laugh at people, car people, who will actually buy one, or those who choose IT over the rest, even for a little bit more money. There are so many nice cars out there, even slightly used, 1 year old models, for the same price, and you get MORE car.

    Driving differences like what? The Corvette is about as elite as you can get. You saying it'll go faster around a track? The tuning potential may be better for straight line speed, but not by much. I honestly couldn't tell you much about the original Supra besides having gobs of potential and being a drift Machine.

    It'll be good for back roads where the Vette is too much car

    I was thinking about trading in my vette for a supra. I think the supra would be better than the vette in tight roads, it would be more flickable. Also, nobody mentions this anywhere, but cost of ownership. Consumables like tires are very expensive for the corvette. A full set of Michelin pilot super sports, which comes stock on my grand sport costs almost 2 fuking grand lmao. They don't last very long either. You would be lucky to get 20-25k miles on a set and that's pushing it. I just had to replace mine and that sucked, but the grip loooord. The supra tire prices are half that. If you are someone that wants to drive and hoon the car daily, like me. This is a huge expense, that you need to consider. Are you willing to drop 2 grand every year or every few months on tires?

    The supra is no slouch either. There are supras on youtube running 10's with a tune.

    On the other hand, with the corvette, you are getting legit super car performance. Im just talking about the c7. Can't even imagine what they will do with the c8z.

    You're talking about 1320's supra? It has some work done, i think E85 and a tune.

    Don't forget, once you tune, bye bye warranty. So i don't know why people like to buy brand new cars, just to tune them. There's cars like the C7Z, hellcat's, GT500's and other insanely fast cars where you can get away with a filter, xpipe, and a pulley, without a tune and make insane power.

    I would never go from a C7 to a supra. But then again i have a z06. I think you were the one that bought the grand sport right? Your username looks familiar. I can see why you might consider it lol.

    The difference between the grand sport and the z06 is too big. They both look good, as they essentially look the same minus the badges and the stock wheels. But there are significant differences between the grand sport and the z06. and it's not only the near 200hp difference.

    Honestly I can barely drive the grand sport, I can't even imagine 650 hp. I was looking at the supra because it supposedly handles better than the vettes, not for the speed. But I am also considering the c8z when it comes out, if I can outgrow the grand sport, which is highly unlikely. I also think the c8 interior is ugly as phuk with that giant divider and the stupid buttons lmao. The c7 interior layout is almost perfect, they should have just improved on that imo.

    I'm sure neither of us, nor 75% of car enthusiasts can drive the grand sport to it's full potential. It's a lot of car for the track.

    But for the street, it's not enough. And it's not only about having more power to get to top speed. I don't do top speed runs, that's a foolish game.

    It's the thrill of going from 40-130 or whatever. That time it takes to do the 40-130.

    A grand sport vs a z06 is a big difference, obviously.

    I sat in the C8, the divider is the first thing you notice lol. But when you're seated inside, it's actually not that bad. I could actually deal with that since the C8 isn't a car you just have people in it all the time anyway. And if you do, it's the wife. They want style and comfort. Like a benz etc.

    The rest of the interior of the C8 is fire. A huge upgrade to the C7. Minus a phucking square ass steering wheel smh. The phuck were they thinking. Otherwise it's spot on.

    I can't wait to get the C8Z.

    I am not a fan of the the square steering wheel either. Im not sure if i even like the flat bottom wheel that's in my car. What did you think of the exterior in person? It looks way too busy imo. But I wasn't a fan of the c7's looks when it first released either, now i think it looks perfect lol. funny how that works.

    People have their odd ways of accepting change. Mostly every person who dislikes the C8, are C7 owners lol.

    I still own my C7Z but i am dying to upgrade to the C8Z already. Every generation it gets better. People say oh GM destroyed the corvette, it's not a corvette anymore, looks nothing like a corvette, the flat plane crank will be terrible, blah blah. Crying like babies. The corvette was supposed to be mid engine decades ago.

    The C8 in person looks incredible. To be honest, a base stingray is about the same size as a C7Z, or widebody C7's. The car definitely looks bigger. I can only imagine how crazy the C8Z will look like with the fender flares and the bigger wider wheels and tires, and i assume more aero. It will look like a legit supercar.

    Pictures don't do it justice. I've seen pics of C7's and some colors and some picture angles don't show the curves of the car. Same with the C8. In person you see every angle and edge. It's legit.

    Vette is midengine though. Not sure how much that affects the feelz of the car though and if its worth the extra 20k.
