Damn, not strict but not the most body english I've seen either. But really what's impressive is just winging them off the rack like that lol. I was just benching the 80s today and pulling them off the rack is the hardest part lol

In no way am I saying those curls do not count or are cheating or anything like that, but at the same time your elbows come forward a decent amount during them. Thus you are generating some momentum from the front delts. Your torso leans back a bit as well. To some degree this is necessary to counterbalance the weight but at the same time that precludes it from being a really strict lift and makes it hard to compare strictly to anyone else in a competitive manner.
I feel for comparison purposes using a strict preacher setup would be best for dumbbells where you keep your body in the same position the entire time.

I fully agree, it’s really hard to be stable with heavy dumbbells on alternating curls. I do those because they are fun for me and I do see some good strength improvement. About once a month I get the easy bar out and do a legitimate strict curl. Back, shoulders, and butt on the wall, heels within one foot of the wall, and knees locked. I can’t remember the head may have to be on the wall too. I think my best was 175lbs but I don’t do it very often, it’s hard on the wrists for me. My wrists hurt for like a week after.

The world record strict curl is 249lbs by Denis Cyplenkov set on December 13th of 2015. This shattered the previous long standing record of 225lbs. Just to be clear, you are saying that you have seen somebody curl 220lbs with one arm, almost breaking the world record set with two arms?

The alternating bicep curl is definitely something that can be cheated easy. It is also easy to tell good form from bad. For instance Kali Muscle has a video of him “curling” 200lb dumbbells, but it looks more like a shoulder shrug. You don’t find many videos of guys curling over 100lb dumbbells with good form though.
