    No abs

I just started working out and have already seen some changes in my physique, im following a upper and lower program, going to the gym 3 times a week. I am lean enough that I should be able to see my abs, however i cant! The only time that i am able to notice them is in the perfect lighting and even still they look flat! One of my mates who has a higher bf% then me has proper abs that are more 3 dimensional then mine, i was wondering if anyone can figure out why ?

    Stats
    65kg
    5’10
According to my scales im 11.7% body fat but i recon im around 13

You need to bulk most likely and build up the muscles in your stomach area.

This. Just like any other muscle, abs won’t look built up unless they are. Small biceps still look small at low body fat, same with abs. Are you doing any core work?

This ^^^ it take time to build abs, just like any other muscle, and being skinny isn't always in your favor when it comes to a good mid section.

    Hello Smithy,

Starting out is actually the hardest part of the process, so props to you for that.

The first advice I can give you as it worked very well for me, was to take pictures every day. This is actually the best way you can measure your improvements and not feel discouraged.

Keep us informed, keep working out and best of luck to you.
