How badly are you affected by news of Kobe's passing today?

I got a call at 7am from one of my friends (Australia time). I was sleepy and thought he wanted me to come to the gym so I didnt pick up. He called a 2nd time and told me of Kobe's passing.
Immediately I felt sick to my stomach, I wanted to throw up and vomit on the spot. I went on the news and social media and it was confirmed to be true.

I called in sick to work. Not going to the gym today. I have not eaten either. This is as bad as the time I lost my grandfather four years ago (where I also cried).

Then I read that his daughter died too and that made it even worse.

I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to live in this world anymore. I wish God can bring him back and take me instead.

As a life long basketball fan...im just pretty much in complete shock srs. I admired Kobe, not only for his basktball skills, but for the person he still was off the court. Watch his interview with Lewis Howes that he did last year srs

Wasn’t a fan of his at all but from a father and basic human perspective, it’s a tragic deal. Guy had a lot money, retired, could do whatever he wanted when he wanted with his family. That the life. Sad it ended so soon for him and and his family.

I think it depicts how we worship celebrities.. Hardly ANYBODY is talking about the others who have passed away - mostly just Kobe and his daughter.. They act like nobody else even died in the incident. He's a rapist, but hes a great basketball player so lets forgive.
