was Lone Survivor a better movie than American Sniper? (vids)

Just watched both movies back to back and I gotta go with Lone Survivor but they were both really good. I loved the dialogue about how they were gonna deal with those goat herders. Such a tough decision they had to make. The movie had a much better flow to it than American Sniper and the firefight scenes were way more intense. AS seemed to have gotten much more recognition than LS.

American Sniper was good and all but the back and forth cuts from him getting deployed and then coming back home and then back to Iraq again kinda hurt the flow of the movie. I just ordered the Lone Survivor book by Marcus Luttrell and cant wait to read it.

What do you guys think? Which one did you like better? Try to ignore the fact that Lone Survivor basically ruined the plot in the title of the movie lol.

Lone Survivor is better IMO, better story and action. Both are great though.

Lone Survivor, possibly because it wasn't as hyped so I didn't have much by way of expectations when I watched it.

American Sniper was horrible. And Chris Kyle was a liar that made up tough guy bar stories about Jesse Ventura.

Yea I side with Jesse Ventura on that one. No idea why Chris Kyle felt the need to throw a fellow Navy Seal under the bus like that. But Jesse says he thinks he did it out of jealousy when everyone was crowding around him asking for pictures more than they were Chris Kyle at that night club. Combine that with the fact that Ventura has spoken out against the war in Iraq, that had to have bothered Chris Kyle big time but still doesn’t make it right. I don’t even feel worthy to criticize a Navy Seal who saved so many marines/seals with his bravery and skills. Because his lies don’t just cancel out all of his heroic actions, but damn it’s a bad stain on such a decorated war hero’s reputation.

Yea I have no idea what he was thinking, not only telling people he did that but to actually include it in the book (correct me if he didn’t) just blows my mind.

Jesse Ventura said it’s called a “Sea Story.” One guy tells some made up story about another Navy Seal doing something badass and then it becomes truth really really fast and everyone just starts rolling with it. Which is weird because he was ALREADY a badass. Was being the most decorated American Sniper not enough for him? Apparently so.

    They are elite.

That's why they were able to get back up and shoot them enemies after falling from height and bushwhacking with no feet required. Alpha AF

I've seen a bunch of podcasts and speeches from Marcus Luttrell and yes the movie was an embellishment but not by much. In real life he did more crawling around and had extremely bad injuries that they can't really show on screen like his back and legs.

But he fkn walked out of there on his own two feet after getting very minimal medical attention. (One of the Rangers almost shot him because he was unexpectedly walking with his injuries and dressed in local clothing but Luttrell slipped and the reflective gear of the PJ behind him gave away that they were friendlies)
