    New Nissan Z

I don't know how well liked tuners are on here but I've always been a huge fan. I drive a 350z right now, didn't like how the 370z looked and the slight bump in power wasn't enough to get me on board. I've been waiting since forever for a new Japanese sports car. With nissan screwing up lately, I'm not sure how much hope I have left for their Z-line. But here is some info/renders

I WAS planning on buying the new supra but figure I'll at least wait to see what this Z can do.

the 370z has been in production since 2009 so 11 years basically with SMALL updates. I honestly don't know what Nissan was thinking. Everything about the 370z is outdated, interior looks like something from the late 2000s. Brand new fully upgraded Z's go for 45k+, like wtf???

yup basically. Nissan is not in a good state right now either financially. they partnered with renault for god knows what, the ceo got arrested, not just their Z is outdated, but basically all of their cars. reliability for their cars dropped. maybe this will pick em up a bit...

I don't think thats what the z is going to look like. Nissan has a V motion design language. That looks more like tard motion.

I think the 350Z is hideous. Don't hate me, I had a 300ZX which I still think looks better. The 370 was a huge improvement looks wise IMO, but Nissan has given up TBH.

The 350/370Z, all the practicality and characteristics of a supercar without the supercar performance. I'll say this, they are solid well put together cars that as long as you take care of them and don't abuse them you won't have many if any problems out of them. They are built in Japan unlike most Nissans.

Was pretty underwhelmed after driving a 350Z, not to mention I hated the design and practicality of it (not fun enough to be a weekender but stupidly designed enough to make you hate your commute to work).
From what I've heard the 370Z didn't sort it all out and did not sell well in Australia.

Hasn't been a good looking Z since the Datto 240/280, and its not looking like their ever will be.

If you're that concerned with buying a new Japanese car, maybe keep saving for a Supra or that new Yaris.

I am also looking forward to seeing how Nissan tries to recover from their state at the moment. Wondering if they will just partner with more capable manufacturers and try to pull themselves from this rut.

I was seriously considering the Supra as well. But I was a little hesitant due to the first model year curse. After driving one I was torn, on one hand, they are a fun/capable car. On the other hand they're a BMW<- this was the "hell no" factor for me. Some have already been recalled for bad crucial welds

interested to see if toyota improves anything for 21, I hope it's window buffering issue is addressed and they add android auto. i 100% agree with you in regards to the BMW portion that sells me off. i question the reliability but i read somewhere toyota tweaked the car to make sure it was up to their standards.

Every Nissan model is old af tbh except maybe the maxima. I went from a 2006 xterra base to a 2015 xterra pro 4x and aside from infotainment and offroad tools it is pretty much exactly the same.

Guy at the dealership tried talking me into a 370z nismo cause he saw me looking at it, 35k or something and the interior looked like it was from the 90s
Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

At that new supra price point, I think I'd spend a few extra bucks and go for an old supra with that 2jz gte. No real depreciation on your investment and a truly great classic car. Just my $.02

looks interesting. front end and headlights a definite throwback to the 240/260/280z of the 70s.

owned a 1990 TT 300zx for years and a couple 240z's. Absolutely love the Z cars. Pops had a z31 turbo when I was a kid.

I hated the 350z personally. 370 got a little better but still not a huge fan.

That engine seems to have a lot of potential from what I've seen, but I'm eating my words on the Supra - I said it would never get in the 10s without massive mods, but apparently the toyota modders are doing more in a few months than the BMW mod scene did in 5 (!) years

That v6 engine from Q50 is very capable already. Honestly even if they tuned it down to make less than 400hp, the aftermarket would pick up the slack easily.

As for the v8, I don't see that happening because the only V8 that Nissan has is the one they use in Titan/Armada and that's a massive engine to put into a small 2 seater. Slap a turbo on it and you wouldn't have enough space for a small detailing brush in there. And I doubt Nissan is in a financial position to develop another engine.

That 5.0 V8 they were selling in some of the infiniti's in the early teens would be a good option for them. It was originally designed for racing and the design is there to tweak for the '20s.

All Nissan really cares about nowadays is trying to meet EPA regulations and selling junk to people with bad credit, a V8 dev wouldnt fit into that.

The TT VQ is fine for this likely price point

    An LS fits in anything.

That's the only way to make this car relevant. Otherwise nissan is probably gone in 5 years. ZERO sales lol.

THey should cut the GTR's price in half, help them out a bit. I'd scoop one of those up. The rest of the nissan lineup is trash. Nissan did it to themselves with the chitty CVT. Ruins everything.

Great. If you're fretting spending that type of money gtfo the thread. It's clear you haven't shopped in this price range nor paid any attention to the performance of new cars. This is isn't 1995 anymore, pal.

Had an hr z with full bolt ons. It was okay, it kinda did everything average. Wish I kept it and boosted it but sold it for more than I paid for it. My fav part on it besides engine was the oem 18 rays track wheels I sourced for them.

I love the old supras but I'd be very picky to the point it would cost wayyy more. It would have to be stock or lightly modded w/ low miles. Don't think I'd find that in the 50k-55k range.

I'm going to hold off though, I've waited 10 years, what's a little more going to hurt. I'm seeing premium trim supras at 50k now. I would be all over it if I hadn't heard about this.

I'd honestly pick the MKIV over the MKV as the new supra isn't a supra IMHO.

But even that said, i wouldn't pay MKV money for an MKIV lol. Phuck buying old cars.

For the price point, you can get a C8 Z51, a couple thou more a GT500, used AMG's, leftover C7Z's with the 1LZ package.

Like if you're not a rich car collector that's willing to "invest" in a car like the older supra, getting an older one is probably one of the dumbest things you can do. I remember last summer at cars and coffee i heard this one idiot with the older nsx saying his car is worth more than "half of the cars in the lot". There were mclarens and F430's and chit. He had a phucking 1991 with 50k miles or some chit. The moron actually thinks he owns some sort of exotic or something.
