Angry very tired from carbs if

So I'm doing if, eating 4hrs 20hrs fast. I feel great and Ive been losing fat while maintaining muscle. My problem is the carbs. So after my 20hr fast I lift weights and then post workout I eat 300 calories of gummy bears and milk with protein powder. Those are the only carbs I'm having for the rest of the day. Rest if the day is going to be bacon for fats and very lean protein such as tuna and greek yogurt. Now everything makes me feel great except for the carbs. They make me wanna go to sleep, I feel so sleepy and tired for the next hour or so but I can feel my muscles filling out each time I eat the carbs. Is there a way to eliminate the tired feeling. I dont have it when I eat regular 6 or 7 meals a day, just when I do if. When I was a kid I literally did if, I ate like 4 5 burgers at once and then I wouldn't eat for the rest of the day. If is amazing tbh

Why are you using gummy bears, yogurt and milk as the only sources of carbs? You need more complex sources if you want to resist to fasting. Eat bread, rice, pasta...
Also, IF has nothing magic in it: you would lose weight with any other kind of diet provided that you are in a caloric deficit.

I agree that's an odd carb source you're eating?

Anyway the tired feeling post carbs is normal. I call it carb coma. I have a small breakfast then head to the gym. My first main carb of the day which is usually a bagel at lunch hits me and I want to nap.

In my opinion, carb coma is not something to take for granted, it is not a normal thing.

Either the carb source is chitty (the GI is too high) or it does not agree with your stomach.

After eating chit like bagels, pasta or sugar, I get this coma too.

But rice, buckwheat, for example, is good.

    Are you a doctor?

I get it from rice too. Any, all carbs. I don't eat buckwheat. It's because I'm running low carbs so I feel them when they hit. Many people I know experience the same effect when cutting and low carb. Can we all be not normal?

Forgot to mention the bagels are from Dave's Killer Bread. Not really crap stuff. But still 47g of carbs.

Not sure how GI has to do with anything here but your statement makes no sense?

Pasta has a lower GI then rice and even buck wheat depending on the type of pasta

    https://pastafits.org/in-the-news/no...c-index-pasta/ - Pasta about 50-55 GI

https://documents.hants.gov.uk/hms/H...exFoodList.pdf - Buckwheat has 50 so the same but spaghetti is lower at 42 so.....

Rice is really high on the GI rating at around 73.

I said OR - it may be one or the another.

It also could be that gluten causes issues for your digestive system.

Anyway, GI does have to do with everything here, sugar coma does really exist, don't you agree?

What I am trying to do here is just list possible causes of the issue: certain food type intoleration, GI or gluten. The reason also may be entirely different.

Ultimately, this is just my experience and what works for me. So FWIW.
Oh, and I strongly believe that food should not make you feel terrible - it's supposed to provide you energy.

Sugar making you sleepy just doesn't make any sense in the short term think about it what is touted as the essential before you exercise in all the adverts energy drink such as lucozade and that is just sugar really (well the old version anyway).

The OP is eating about 80-90g of gummy bears that is not going to cause hardly any effect on anything. Carbs in milk is very little just the lactose really.

The most likely he feels rubbish is he is on borderline Keto therefore feeling the effects of not truly getting into Ketosis (his carb intake seems around 50-60 grams a day). Or more to the point he just have no idea what he is feeling seeing as he believes he can feel the muscles fill out by eating 50g of carbs every time he does which makes absolutely no sense you won't feel carbs working like that.

Not to mention some his posts just make no sense.....

I can't tell you how many times I've heard in person or even online from people who are cutting especially with IF who state those first carbs of the day slam them and cause them to become sleepy. This is not new or ground breaking info. Are all these people abnormal? Suffering from so called exaggerated gluten allergies? And I'm not talking sugary carbs. Besides the OP who the heck is eating candy and serious about fitness? I'm talking oats, rice, potatoes and certain whole grain breads.
