My blood pressure has being do odd thing as of late but I'm told it has to do with meds I take for a lung issue I have. Anyway, while I was investigating my blood pressure issue I read that the new standard for taking blood pressure medication is 140/90.

Well, I knew my BP was fine, the doctor did, as well. It was the paperwork on my exam that had "high" on it.
I believe that anti-inflammatory steroids if that is what you are taking for your lung issue, may affect BP. I hope it's not too serious.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Cool story bro.
Would read again.
And why would you worry what the gubmint says regarding your health? Gubmint is evil. It wants to make you sick to depend on big pharma.
At any rate, the last time I was at the doctor he grabbed my ballz and told me to cough.
So I ran my fingers through his hair and whispered
“Doc. Taxation is theft.”This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Many years ago I had to pass a Norwegian Seamens medical (that's oilrigs/ships not semen, watch the spelling). I had bp reading during it which I passed, but next to the examination couch was a trolley with several boxes of surgical gloves and the biggest tube of lubricant I've ever seen, it was like a tube of mastic for building work. I'm still amazed my BP was normal, it certainly didn't make me feel relaxed about what might be in store. Thankfully the gloves and lube never figured in my medical exam.

I have a hard time thinking that any doctor would prescribe a medicine for your blood pressure. These values are for the general public and the general public isn't as physically fitness oriented as you.
For most Americans, they are going to get fatter with age, and their corresponding blood pressure needs to be addressed earlier than it has been in the days of yor. Obesity and it's associated comorbidities is at least 70% of my business.
You probably got the scare treatment because you didn't bring him flowers before the prostate exam. Doctors have feeling too! lolA man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.

My last trip to the VA went like this.
-I roll in, they do my height 5'6, weight 168. I sit back in chair. The nurse case practitioner was a 5'8 350 lb woman. I am being generous on weight guess. Well she says "Sir according to bmi you're obese" I lifted my shirt and said "I'm under 6% bodyfat, I have drank a gallon of water so far today and you are drinking Mountain Dew, calm down".
