the truth is, michelle obama's initiative made lunches way better, and way healthier. it set simple guidelines, while specific menu items and food qual­ity are deter­mined by indi­vid­ual school dis­tricts themselves, not michelle personally (duh).

these are the best fugging lunches ive ever seen.

but of course some schools dont have the funding or equipment or resources or desire even to improve lunches under these guidelines, so they serve their kids junk and bitch about the initiative.

and of course, massive ag companies that for decades have had contracts to feed public schools frozen, processed pizza and burgers and all kinds of absolute garbage are losing money, so they hate it. and because trumpers love big ag companies and totally support public taxpayer subsidies on stuff like corn syrup which makes americans sick and gives them diabetes and cancer, they hate the initiative too.

My wife works in a public school and is a firm believer in them to the point she won't even entertain the idea of sending our kids to private school. Even she admits that the kids hate the lunches since that initiative. She says that the kids just throw it all away and end up eating chips from the vending machines because the food tastes so bad. Doesn't matter how healthy something is if the kids refuse to eat it
