    RIP Neil Peart

Did I miss it? How is there no thread on this?

Incredible musician and technician, had some really hard times in his life.

RIP to the youngest inductee to the Drummers Hall of Fame

A very talented man. RIP Neil

Thanks for all those concerts back in the 70's and 80's. Good Times!

Took me a very long time to get around to appreciating their music. This I regret. RIP.

Rush is my favorite Prog rock group of all time. I saw this yesterday. They sang of important conceptual things. Very very good.

He's in the discussion of greatest rock drummers ever, AND he wrote a significant amount of RUSH music. So sorry he's gone.

Had not listened to them in years but in light of Neil's passing been spotifying RUSH for my workouts. Actually pretty good workout music and hearing through headphones is another experience altogether.

I have read interviews with Alex Vah Halen and Roger Taylor. They have both said "Neil was from another planet" concerning percussion. I fell out of favor a bit with Rush with "Clock Work Angels" I thought they moved too far away from "Moving Pictures" and "Counter Parts". I was introduce to Rush with the 2112 album in the late 70's as a child. My aunt who is a very accomplished pianist and flute player loved the band. She was very into Genesis and Rush. I saw Rush twice, "Roll the Bones" tour in St. Louis and "Counter Parts" in North Carolina. Just amazing.

I’ve seen them a few times too. They We’re my first concert ever. I saw them in Detroit. It was the Signals album.

I also prefer the earlier stuff myself. The opening to Tom Sawyer always pumps me up.
