Congrats OP , nice looking rig . I have a 2017 ecoboost F150 Lariat and love it . I seen a 2019 F350 in dark blue with factory blackout , and holy sheit did it look awesome . Guy had the levelling kit put it and was running 35” tires which fit perfect . Think he paid well over $100K though, but we’re in Canada

At first when you see prices on these trucks it's a bit of a sticker shock but consider what you are getting and it's not too bad. I spent low 40's on my Silverado 1500 and hear "OMG spending that much on a truck" and how "why do you need that much truck" and I'm like that's not that much and not much truck to be honest. Ford makes a nice truck but not my style. Saw a GMC Sierra 2500 Denali with the Duramax the other day.... hnnnnnnggggg.

When I see expensive cars all I can think of is "Damn dude you could have had a really nice truck for the price of that car". Is there something wrong with me?

Naw man I do the same thing. What do people do in sports cars? Drive real fast to the red light? lmfao. Nah I'd rather have something I can drive through the snow in, tow/haul stuff, and get back into some of the trailheads that require good clearance/4x4 ability to get to.

Like on Friday when I load up and head to Steamboat Springs through a foot or 2 of snow.

I'm more of a truck guy as well. I'd take a fully loaded F250 Diesel over pretty much any car.

Feels good to know I'm not alone. If you want to go fast, buy a bike. There isn't much of anything that car can do the bike can't, except maybe a little bit more luggage and a few more passengers, but with the bike you can get some ramps and LOAD IT IN THE BACK OF YOUR BIG ASS HONKIN' TRUCK, while towing a boat or even a camper. Try that with your mustang.

Same here. Sometimes I wish I got a diesel and/or 3/4 ton but I'd really don't tow enough to make use of it although I'm a fan of heavy duty. I've been averaging 21-22MPG with my 1500 Silverado. I also have a 2002 Silverado 1500. The 2018 is much larger and heavier duty than the 2002. Co-worker has a 2003 Silverado 2500 and we were comparing some things and for the most part, today's 1500's are built to 2500 standards except they use softer springs, upgrade rear springs or add airbags to the back and it's can handle more. Just make sure you have trailer brakes and I don't care what you are driving the trailer needs to have it's own brakes unless it's just a jet ski or a 5x8 utility trailer. 2020 Silverado has a towing capasity of 13Klbs. Although it's never a good idea to go beyone 3/4 of that limit, 1/2 limit if you are regularly towing.

No thanks jeff.
There's nothing wrong with trucks being gas guzzlers or using a chitload of oil because of the type of work they take on.

However if op is using this as a DD and is not hauling heavy things, he needs to get his head checked.

Don't get me wrong I liked my C63S, but I literally on drove it 500 miles a month because of weather. If it's too cold, can't drive, if it's snowing, can't drive. It was just sitting in my garage most of the time.

With this truck I have the power and capabilities and I can drive it all year around, plus when I do need to put a pallet of block or cement I can.

Also, I've got so many compliments on this truck I was quite surprised.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy another sports car eventually, but what I want I need to wait, maybe next year I can find a new 718 GT4 or used GT3.

You guys are definitely not alone in wanting a truck over everything else. My truck seats 6 and is a great family hauler. The back seat has more leg room than pretty much any other vehicle. On top of that I have the box for all gear and chit I gotta haul along with the kids. We have a grand caravan and it has far less cargo space. A truck is a 10/10 family hauler.

The box is so much more useful than having an SUV. I throw my stinky hockey bag in there, 4 sets of golf clubs, it hauls my mountain bike (and all the kid’s). I have a 100lb dog that rides in the box (in an aluminum kennel). I had 2000lb of crushed rock in my F150 this summer when we were landscaping. I use my truck to tow my travel trailer. I could give endless examples where a truck is the best option for the given vehicle task.

The fact of the matter is that I could not live my lifestyle if I drove anything but a truck.

I came in here to hassle you about it. I like a pickup too but 99% of average use and luxury features can be had in a 1/2 ton gas job for less capital cost and half the maintenance.

The only reason I would see owning one of these is if you are in construction or agriculture. Somewhere you can lease it into the company and write off depreciation and maintenance then sure, its one of the benefits of the industry.

Thats my favorite color on those trucks but i'm not huge on blacking everything out, its a boomer mentality but I think they look great with a bit of brightwork on them.
