Surely by now.. 3 days into the new year we should have a heap of posts (especially in the program section) like... I've never exercised in my life, 5' 6", I weigh 250lbs. How many pushups do I need to do each day to look like: Brad Pitt in fight club, Sylvester Stallone in first blood, etc etc and is 60 days long enough.
Is this forum in such a serious decline that not even the crazies are coming these days? Or is this too early and it'll be a case of "be careful what you wish for"?

No no... I have the utmost respect for anyone trying to better themselves and it's way braver for the 250lb guy never been to a gym before to walk in the gym front door than for a 180lb guy.
I'm talking here about the batsh!t crazy posts where they're posting a question but already convinced that a quick game of soccer and a 5 minute session with shake weight strapped to their foot is The way to build hoooge legs but will have quit by Jan 20th anyway. Those are the posts I'm missing.

It's called "Healthy at every weight"
Just like there are examples of individuals who lived to age 90s and smoked heavily all thier lives without obvious harm, the fact that there are some seriously obese individuals who appear healthy is seen by some people as "proof" that being obese is not unhealthy in any way for anyone. Don't start discussing logical fallacies (undistributed middle) or the huge body of medical evidence because that's not politically correct!
Aaaahhhh, feel better to have got that rant off my chest. Thanks S.P.

I joined a YMCA in Oct, night and day difference after boxing day, very busy since. Its extremely irritating for someone who normally works out at home in a garage gym. Counting the days till it warms up and I can set up the garage and work out at home again, first week of April wont come soon enough.
Please record my time/reps if I pass out

I was home sick one day and one of those shows came on with Women sitting around talking. One woman was joking that at the DMV you can tell them you're any weight so she has 95lbs on her Driver's License. I would conservatively put her at 230lbs. They were all laughing and celebrating her shenanigans. So it's not acceptable to decry clinical obesity I get it, but to aspire to it? C'mon FFS
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

There's not a single one of the ads that show up on my page here that has anything to do with any of my browsing or preferences.
Or my wife's. That's not completely true for all sites. I frequent a forum on spaceflight that sends me ads for Rogue equipment and electronics from time to time. That's fine. But it also sends me ads for yachts and heavy construction machinery. I live in the desert, 300 miles inland, fer cryin' out loud. I don't think these marketing algorithms are all that great.
And yeah, I think she's obese.“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”
