Quick question here, I got a new scale (Taylor digital) my old one is probably ~4 years + old. They read about 14 pounds different... should I just continue to use my old scale for this event or how would others go about this? I've tested the new scale with a bag of salt and it seems to be more accurate, will do more tests after work just to be sure. Perhaps I could just subtract the 14 from my original and continue that way... or just simply use my old scale.

Damn..14lbs is a huge difference. bummer.
My scale is off by 4lbs from the one at the gym and the one my wife uses.
Two ways to go about this;
1-use your new scale and subtract -14lbs to keep up with previous weights posted here.
2-use your new scale and modify your previous 3 weigh ins, adding +14lbs to each.
It sucks either way, I know. Don't let that bother you much...Progress is progress, regardless of what the new scale reads! You've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks and that's dope!!Transformation Thread: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=177716261&p=1591136601#post1591136601

Many thanks for the reply sir, I think I will just subtract the 14 from the first 3, and then use the new scale on our next weigh in. Yeah not a huge deal! I'm glad I weigh less than what I originally had thought, but like I said I will go home to be sure with a weighted bag to see if the thing really is accurate or not! I just kinda did it quick this morning. Cheers!

Damn! I may have read the original post wrong. Your new scale shows you as -14lbs lighter than on the old scale?
Either way! Safer to double check with a sugar bag or a dumbbell to see! I keep telling myself to lay off the damn scale and look in the mirror itself. sometimes just 1-2lbs make a huge difference when in sub 15% bfTransformation Thread: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=177716261&p=1591136601#post1591136601

2 lb drop, it's on track with my long term goal of 152 by Feb 14th but on the other hand I was hoping for a bigger "back on track water drop" biggest it's a nice mental candy seeing a big drop on the scale. It could be that it's been a long gap since I've weight trained so Im retaining water etc.
Next weigh in I'll do on the 29th and I'm hoping to hit the 150s even if it's by a margin.Last edited by rubyharo; 01-22-2020 at 11:06 AM.

1.5lbs loss this week. About the range I'm looking for which is 1% of my weight weekly. Feel overall leaner and during my biceps and back workout I got hella vascular on the arms/bicep which is a motivator!! lol stomach is leaner but the loosey skin/subcutaneous fat still hides a lot.. Usually start to see abs under 180. I'm going to have to start getting off the scale and look in the mirror more at this point!

Everything has been on point. No complaints here. As long as I'm dropping between 1-2.5 each week I'll be happy as I'm in a measured deficit each day at 2500cals (usually about 2350-2450 each day). Pumps in the gym have been great and I love muscle memory. I can already feel a difference and it's only about 16 pounds off my high of 2.5 months ago. Back to my 2xlt shirts instead of the 3xlt ones. Onward to XLT in the coming months!

Well on Tuesday I was down to 169.6 then had a family dinner saved myself 1,000 calories for it and of course it was pasta, garlic bread and all types of cakes. I kept the pasta low with more sauce and had 2 pieces of garlic bread and a piece of cake. Then the next day comes and I’m back up to 173.8 ughhhh. I can’t even have a cheat day here but gotta keep on going.

Well I am up this week, but it was expected (expected more actually). I was on the road a lot and only got in 1 good workout, wasn't prepared meal wise, and paid for it. Also, still adding carbs back in, so there's that. On the bright side, I should have some killer workouts this week lol

A day late but at least still making some progress. Had a couple dinners that were good just not good for me. Only exercise I'm getting is work around the house. Hope to get more done then start hitting the home gym and get a real start.
