when discussing the 2nd amendment, i'm under of the mindset that if government has it, we have it. It's the true nature of the 2nd amendment. and thats the way life was when it was written.
However, what do you guys say when someone brings up nukes when talking about gun control. It's a straw man argument and big use of extreme in logical fallacy, so what is a good reply for when someone brings it up?

I tell them that I agree with this
The idea in my concept is that those who feel they must take up arms to defend their cause must have the ability to effectively do their oppressors significant harm. So their best weapons must not be mere heated words, pointed sticks, and other low-effect tools. A portion of society that feels all hope of peaceful redress of grievances through the legislative process is lost, must have the ability to act effectively in violent concert.
On the other hand, the goal of insurrection as promoted by the Founders in the Declaration of Independence and other documents is not that ONE person could have the power to force his will on others, and/or destroy towns, and kill mass numbers of people. So there is a practical reason for why ordnance (and the sorts of mass-effect weapons that have been developed, from nerve gasses to nuclear weapons) are not in the hands of the individual.
There is a balance here. We don't want one man to have the ability to wipe out a city because he's not happy. The individual with his rifle, or with his machine gun, grenades, and other anti-personnel weapons doesn't present a credible threat to society at large, and is not a compelling force for governmental change and/or resistance. But a large number of individuals all dedicated to one goal and armed with conventional arms may be so.
Perfect level of doneness

There's another side to this that the antis don't ever think of.
With widespread civilian ownership of arms, the government has to:
-Nuke
-Mobilize a tank army
-Carpet bomb
With a disarmed populace a tyrannical government has to send a guy in with a handgun.Florida Crew as of 3/21

A little differently.
But generally the same aside from assisting with movement. but the adding weight/tension is used the same. Will make weighted pull ups and push ups much nicer than using bands though, that's for sure.
in addition, i know what weight im moving other than just using a band that maybe has a tension/stress of 200lbs or something before snapping.
my chains are rated for 5700lbs.
ain't no way im doing that. but now it's mutli purpose too for many other situations.the above post is not serious and is for entertainment purposes only.
Thanks for your time.

I guess it depends on what you're doing and you didn't specify. There are a lot of exercises that use bands where the resistance of the band stretching is the [entirety of the] resistance of the exercise and a chain could not be substituted. If you're doing barbell lifts with the bands anchored low in the rack for like squat or bench and progressively add resistance to the top of the lift, that would be similar with a chain...obviously doing them reverse with bands mounted up high and helping with the lower portion of the lift you can't do with chains.
etc etc
So...now I'm curious...what exactly are you doing with the chains? Like, wrapping the chains around the bar to make up for not having plates? Working on lockouts?

Great, so you are on picking up what i'm putting down.
Haven't tried yet, it's all in my head right now, so we'll see.
Don't have a barbell, but do have an 80/100lb heavy bag from like a decade ago when i boxed. For leg day, i plan on draping both sets of chains over my shoulders with the heavy bag on top of them, and do walking lunges/squats/stairs
For training back, drop over shoulders or place in a backpack and do weighted pull ups. In addtion, with said back back, put it on backwards (backpack is now stomach pack), chains in back packs, and bear hug the heavy bag and do a good morning variation of sorts to keep up my back strength that way.
similar thing for training chest with push ups. either in the backpack, or over my shoulders.
Shoulders is tricky, i'll have to find someway to jerry rig them around dumbbells (bowflex select tech from like a decade ago) to get the extra weight i need. But will be great for front raises and lateral raises. Even rear delt flies. And i guess chest flies too if i can rig it up enough.
It won't be pretty, but it doesn't have to be.the above post is not serious and is for entertainment purposes only.
Thanks for your time.
