    Would I lose muscle or not gain any muscle if I fast?

    I’m a beginner lifter, and my diet has been simple. I allow myself a 6-8 hours eating window and Fast the rest of the day. For exemple, I eat from 2pm to 8-10pm. The reason being, I feel more focused on an empty stomach in the morning. I get **** done.

    If I consume all the calories I need in that 8 hours eating window, and I’m trying to build a lot of muscle, would my current routine prevent me from making gains?

    No it won't prevent you. It's probably not optimal but you can still build muscle whilst Intermittent fasting.

    Because building muscle has been shown to occur best when consuming regular feds of amino acids (aka protein) for growth. Therefore by fasting you are missing some potential extra growth.

    Will it be significant noticeable amounts over a long period of time who knows but I would prefer not to miss the chance if it was me.

    No, common myth. GH rises during a fast but its function in that instance is energy mobilisation, it does not grow muscle by itself. That requires a cocktail of signals + sufficient energy and aminos.

    Fasting is not anabolic...
