Could it work? Probably. What is the why behind it though? It is not going to produce better results than following a diet of normal meal frequency with some days at a deficit and some days at a surplus. If you feel that it fits your lifestyle and disposition well, then go for it, but don't trick yourself into thinking it is something magical (correct me if i'm wrong on this point, I am not meaning to make assumptions).

Down just a couple legit pounds (not water, fat) since December 31st, by design. I'm taking this journey long and slow in hopes to preserve as much muscle as possible. Will be weighing in Sunday night and I'm hoping I haven't lost too much too fast. Only weighing about 175 right now, don't want to dip too far into the 160s after this is all said and done. I'm thinking a 10 lb loss will have things looking real good, but we'll see brahs. We're all gonna make it!

Down 10 pounds in 2 weeks with no loss of strenght. Expecting another 2 weeks of fast weight loss like this and after that, the grinding will truly begin. Brb watching every calorie
Btw IF is the GOAT"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Was 177 lbs last time I weighed in at the gym. Heaviest was 182.
I've lost probably another 2-3 lbs because been sick for some reason. Still loading creatine though for the extra water weight/size. Overall though, not bad- thought I would gain so much fat from not lifting.
Recomping is adding muscle while losing fat. You can have bulk days or refeed days after you workout for muscle recovery but what's the point if your performance at the gym is lacking because you've been fasting all day. I would rather have a set number of calories and have enough energy for the actual workout. I really think not eating all day you're going to crash hard even with the surplus days after your workouts.
Thanks Muzzlr you could say I've been lifting hard in 2019Last edited by zhengterry; 02-02-2020 at 05:09 PM.

This is my 5th week, went from 97 kgs to 90 kgs. Probably around 15% bf now, abs already out and chest, arms and shoulders looking incredibly lean. Lower back and midsection as always needs more time.
Im blowing my mind srs, ive never had such a succesful cut before and ive done a few. Last year was a great one and i think im beating myself from 2019 at this very same date for 2 or 3 bf% percentage.
Best of it is that im not suffering with the diet srs. IF has been life changing for me."The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. Thanks man, you're shredded with a good amount of mass as well. Its impossible for me. I can get cut but cant add much mass without getting soft pretty quickly. My legs are small as well which keeps my weight lower then I'd like. I'm 45 too but I'll keep chasing that dragons tail.

IN!!!
Seems like a yearly thing with me. Work my ass off for Summer then stop lifting for 5 to 6 months.
Its weird. It's like if I dont have a clear goal (like getting lean) then it's hard for me to stay consistent. I know that's stupid because after Summer is the best time to actually build muscle so the following years cut will be better. I just have to tell myself that.
Anyway, took off lifting from August to late January. Went from 165 to 194 again. Been tracking calories and back down to 182 this morning.
Lifts were hilarious when I got back into it. Bench was at 135 x 5, DL 275 x 1, OHP 95 x 5, Squat 135 x 5
This last week got those up to 170 x 3 for bench, 315 for 5 sets of 1 on DL, OHP 115 x 5 x 2 sets, Squat 205 x 3 (kinda easy). So strength is coming back slowly but surely even in the deficit. Gotta love muscle memory brahs!!!
Will rep as many as possible. This crew had always kept me motivated.Alpha beard crew

Quick update 173 now. total weight lost is at 16. I am getting to the point where a single lb seems to make a difference in definition and vascularity, my face is getting much more defined. I suspect I will have to go to about 160 or so for defined unflexed abs, so hoping to hit that before the end of may and then lean bulk through the summer, because i love cheeseburgers and i refuse to be ignoring them during cookout season.

I have no idea didnt weigh myself since then. Only way on occasions, I dont own one myself.
Im not as lean as in the old pic and the lighting is worse but I did gain size. Wouldnt be more than 1-2 lb of lean mass tho. That comparison pic makes it look the other way aorund lol.

No but I also dont steer far away from it. 15% is usually the point where I start dieting again and I only post pics when Im 10-12% to be fair.
Yea, when you posted my old pic I was a little bit embarassed but thats just the way it is, gotta sacrifice a little bit of form and look to gain size.
I dont diet below 10% anymore until Im more satisfied with my general proportions and weakpoints.
