All you can eat Korean BBQ

Just got back from this...the ultimate protein bonanza! OMG I estimated what I ate in my logging app and I came up with 1500 calories and 130g protein...it's $23 flat rate all you can eat and they have like 30 different things you can order...had 3 kinds of beef, chicken, pork, etc...

If anyone is in SoCal it's called Gen Korean BBQ in Tustin and worth every penny. I'm going to go pass out now.

Do they cook it for you? Korean food is bomb but I can’t bring myself to pay to cool my own food at a restaurant.

Sounds like good value either way though #gains

Both - some of it is pre-cooked (like Korean fried chicken) but a lot of it you cook yourself.

If you think about the cost of the meat, it's still a good deal - but yeah after the first few rounds I was like "do we have to keep cooking everything..."

All you can eat? Challenge Accepted!

I miss Mongolian BBQ, had one right around the corner from me when I lived in Sac, it was something like $20 for all you could eat. All the food was in a buffet style, but raw, meat, veggies, ect. You get what you want and take it to one of the cooks who had a huge wok and they stir fried it right there fresh.

If you sit there long enough with your plates of raw meat and keep a puzzled look on your face, they'll come over and put it on the grill for you, and if you have the same puzzled look as your food burns on the grill they'll take it off and put it on your plate.

All part of the effort to get you full and out of there quicker to free up a table. Teamwork.

This place was smart about turnover - there's a 2 hour limit so you can't just chill all day for lunch and dinner lol.

    And teamwork makes the dreamwork.

There is a dinky one by my house, and I love the place as their food is quite good. The sucky part about them is that they require you to be in a party of 2 and are served a small amount for 25 dollars each. None of my friends like going there because they don't like the concept of cooking their own food at a restaurant, but I love those places because I grew up with stuff similar to that.

Not worth it imo when there are other places where it is cheaper and you don't have to drag someone with you to eat there.
    Just keep on going.

Yeah I probably low balled it to feel better about myself...obviously I wasn't weighing/measuring the food so afterwards I just kind of guesstimated "5oz. this 5oz. that" etc....plus keep in mind 90% of the meal were meats, so not a lot of carbs, mostly fat/protein...

I was thinking the same thing. Mongolian BBQ is the best. I remember they were really popular back in the 90s, but they aren't around as much anymore. It's a shame.

I eat 1500 for two of my 4 meals on training days . Up your game boyo.

Also, check out a Brazilian steakhouse. They bring you loads of cooked meat until you turn your coaster from green to red

Well I'm on a cut right now so I blew past my calories for that day...but again - nope, not worried about it, and yes I DID enjoy every bite.

Done the Brazilian thing, also 5 stars for sure.

And I'm trying to cut right now - hence the paltry effort to restrain myself a bit...

My girl is Korean and she's not crazy about Korean BBQ...so we never go. How nuts is that???? But I've been to a few in NYC and they were awesome, cooking it yourself and all. Never seen one that was all you can eat. I think I'd easily exceed 1500 cals!
