Question Yoga to help improve posing?

    Hi,

I'm currently 15 weeks out from my next competition. The first one I did, posing was a little easier on my body because of the category & federation I entered. I'm switching it up for 2020 and entering the bikini masters category, but my lower back is so stiff I have difficulty holding the poses correctly. I can't seem to push my glutes enough.

Anyone tried yoga for this? Would it help? I do have a membership to a hot yoga studio and could attend, but I don't know how to make it work into my schedule. Basically I guess I need people to tell me it definitely would help... 'cause I do not love yoga I guess I could also do it at home but I'm less likely to commit to it if it's not in a class setting.

Any other tips/advice to improve mobility, besides yoga? I'll take all the tips I can get.

    Thanks!!

Competed for the first time in 2019.
Managed to voluntarily put on 22 pounds during off season, ready to bring an updated version to the stage when shows start happening again!

Yoga will absolutely help. You can also do some lower back stretches at home on your own time. I would also advise getting a few deep muscle massages to help loosen up your lower back area.

Good luck with your prep and Happy New Year!

Will do! I already have a massage booked in 2 weeks, will book a few until the competition also.
Gosh, I guess I need to do some yoga then I may try doing some classes at home. Commiting to a schedule and attend a class is just too much, I don't like yoga at all so I will probably do better if I do 10-20 minutes at a time, at home.

Just a few short sessions a couple times a week is plenty. You'll notice a difference and it will make your posing so much easier.
