The easiest way to tell when an argument has no merit is when the protagonist mixes in some personal insults.

I think it would be awesome if they made a sequel where Maverick decided to become an airline pilot for Delta and flew between Salt Lake City and Minneapolis-St. Paul every day. He could hand out peanuts to passengers, and remind everyone that their seat cushion can be used as a flotation device and that they should secure their own oxygen mask before assisting others.

Once they hit 35K feet, Maverick could get on the PA system and tell a mildly off-color joke. Old ladies would look at each other and giggle "My goodness gracious! That Maverick is so awful!" But secretly, they think Maverick is cool. At the end of the movie, they land safely and Maverick thanks everybody for flying the friendly skies.

I feel a little bad because I just gave Hollywood an awesome idea for a sequel right here for free. This sh!t would be box office gold. GOLD!

    Motorcycles used by Maverick:

1st movie was GPZ900R, put out 115 hp and could hit 151 mph, which was enough to make it the fastest motorcycle in the world in its day.

    The sequel:

Kawasaki Ninja H2R, the most extreme version with a 310 hp supercharged engine, a 236 mph top speed and a starting price of $55,000, the H2R is a big step up from the GPZ900R.

Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

You need conflict... Like the guy with the peanut allergy.

    But wait! Even better!

A young girl being rushed across the country for emergency medical treatment, being cared for by a singing nun, a young boy who gets to tour the cockpit, inspiring Maverick's curiosity about Turkish prisons, a copilot who closely resembles an NBA superstar, a tainted fish dinner, and a ground control supervisor who picked a bad day to give up drinking.

    Think anyone would like it?

Same here. I liked him in War of the Worlds, but The Mummy sucked rocks.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.
