Talking How many of you successfully dropped almost 10% bf in one cut season??

    Sup dudesss...

Curious how many of you were successfully able to drop 10% in bf mass in one cut.

I’m about to go into my second cut, it’ll last me 6 months or less, depending how I feel about progress.

I already have a nice diet planned out, but I’m curious about some of the amazing accomplishments by others!!

    Stats:
    216ibs (maintaining now) finished bulking,
    5’7 24%bf

    Goal is 10% @ 170-175ibs.

I am the same age as you, so it may be more relevant. ... however I started lifting in June this year, and was at about 40% Body fat. I followed Jim Stoppanis Short cut to Size to begin with and successfully completed it on time. I started Keto on August 17th. And am still on it, I introduced Intermittent Fasting in October. I lift 4days and Cardio 2 or 3 days (as I really enjoy it).
I am now at 19% BF, goal is 7%....should reach it in Aug 2020 according to my calculations and taking into account the slowing in the rate of BF reduction. Amazing thing is - I have put on muscle and am coninuing to do so albeit at a slower rate than if I were to be under a slight calorific surpluss.

It really is a lot of fun seeing results!

I’m actually 29... not sure why it says I’m 49 lol yeah, I had worked out all my life but hit a bad part of my life in 2014 and stopped working out until this year. Everything went into atrophy and I got fat lol

I think the question should be less about losing 10% BF, and but more along the lines of going from a high BF down to 15% or lower. If you are at 40% BF, then going to 30% in one cut is pretty common. Going from 30% to 20% isn't that uncommon either. But I see a lot of people in your situation that don't go far enough in a single cut. There seems to be something about people that are at 20-25% that makes them feel like they are too thin if they get much below 20%. A lot has to do with people around them saying they are "too skinny" once they reach 18% or so. I think people are just used to having some size to them and start bulking too early.

Looking at your pics, you have some large arms, but your lats (and even legs) are likely to get smaller when you lose enough fat. This might temp you to bulk too early, but at least your arm muscles (and leg muscles) should really bulge and will hopefully keep you on track. Just be aware that your chest size might look small to you, and post pics for us to see the progress before making any decisions to bulk.
Was 280+ at the beginning of 2019 (highest recorded weight is 290 on Dec 13, 2018).

    Jan 08, 2020...goal is 200.5

    Good post, repped.

10% body fat is relative...much easier to go from 30 to 20% than 20 to 10%. The leaner you get, the harder it becomes to continue losing fat.

Also super common for people to have to drop to a lower body weight than they first thought when starting the cut. My advice is always use the mirror to decide when you've cut enough, not an inaccurate body fat measurement or a number on the scale.

I was 187lbs 28-30% bf back in May, am now 160lbs around 18% bf. Goal is 152lbs before February and reevaluate from there depending on how I look.

Good points. It’s been a while since I’ve been under 12%bf (2013) when I was still hitting it hard in the army. I find it very difficult finding someone to compare with,

    My body is interesting.

I have pretty large legs with little fat, nice sized calves. My fat tends to lightly coat all the definition on my body, I don’t have a large excess of fat in one area, except around the waist. My chest isn’t super big, but I tend to hold some fat on top of my pecs and behind the pec, my back is lightly coated with fat, but the definition still shows well. My arms have various areas of little fat where you usually start to gain when you bulk. I’ve been bulking since August of this year, and about to start my cut. I feel like at 10% I will still feel pretty darn big if I am able to retain a lot of the muscle I do have without making huge sacrifices. At 175 I may even be below 10%. Just a goal, and I feel it may not be too difficult. I have about 6 months to cut.

I know my last cut I went from 149lbs to 115lbs for stage... what's that, like 20% of my body weight? The cut was closer to 8 months I'd say. Hard to draw comparisons between us I'd imagine, our body types seem to be a bit different

That was my first cut of that extreme, after my first real bulk - 18 months. Toward the end I had stalled, got worried and aggressive, and then dropped more than I meant to. I got to single digit BF, but I know I had to have sacrificed more muscle than I wanted to.

I've been bulking a good long time again, with my next cut starting in the new year that'll be just as extreme. Swapping between BB and PL is hard

Holy crap. Checked out your profile. Impressive!!!! Really well rounded and balanced muscular body. Definitely badass.

I’m hoping that my cut will be successful, I was lucky that this years cut I didn’t have much stalling. Maybe a few times, but made quick adjustments to my diet and was able to lose an average of 1.5-2ibs/ week. Hoping the same result for this upcoming year. I really don’t want to bulk again starting at high teens, low 20s again lol killed my confidence for sure.

I calculated an average loss of 1.5ibs/ week x 24 weeks. Some weeks may be 2ibs, some may be flat. But, if I drop a nice 36ibs I’m hoping to be at 180ibs with 10%bf. I can probably maintain that until next years bulk, and work my way up to 200, and then cut back down to 180-185. We will see. It all starts right now, all the planning.

I know there is a lot of nay sayers, but my end goal, something I’ll be able to maintain is 200ibs @ 10%bf. crossing my fingers, but for now.. baby steps.
