    Ruiz Pissed Me Off Yesterday

He didn't even have to chase Joshua because he was the champion, and dude came overweight AF. He had the potential to get another win but him and his team acted dumb. Really pissed off

Honestly makes me think the first fight was fixed. Obviously generated a lot more hype than if Ruiz would have just lost the first time. Plus Joshua's camp could have won a lot of money by throwing the first fight and easily winning the rematch. The fix was in!

    not sure if srs

AJ realized he can't knock everyone in the world out so he had to actually box intelligently. Stuck to his game plan against a much shorter opponent and that's the result. Ever seen a Klitchko fight?

I'd be surprised if they ever even fight for a 3rd time. Eddie Hearn probably wants to close this chapter and forget the Ruiz thing ever happened.

I think Ruiz is a better boxer than AJ. He can take a punch far better and has way faster hands. If AJ wasn't prancing around the ring and Ruiz got him against the ropes it would've been over within seconds.

He did go all 12 rounds this fight. Even the previous fight they fought, back when he was a nobody, no one would have expected him to go the distance then.

Imagine going into a fight worth tens of millions and your entire legacy is on the line, and you lose miserably, come to the fight gaining 15lbs of flab, and your excuse is you didnt train hard enough and partied too hard.

    Absolutely pathetic.

Not fixed at all. AJ took a hard counter left hook off the slip and couldn't recover afterward.

If there was match-fixing, this second fight should have been less lopsided to generate hype for fight #3.

I don't know why some of you guys come into this threads you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Also AJ was always going to win. I don't see how people can say he's a hype job or whatever look at his resume. He always could box.

I'm not saying there was match fixing. But AJ could have intentionally taken a dive vs an opponent he knew was way inferior without even letting Ruiz know what was going on. Then win millions in Vegas and easily get his titles back through the guaranteed rematch. Who was even paying attention to heavyweight boxing beforehand? Brit champion probably wasn't generating a ton of ppvs. What better way to cash in that to hype up a tomato can Mexican American then beat him down in the rematch. That generated tons of hype in a pretty stagnant division.

Brit champion probably wasn't generating a ton of ppvs. What better way to cash in that to hype up a tomato can Mexican American then beat him down in the rematch. That generated tons of hype in a pretty stagnant division.

Bullchit. PPV numbers have been way down.

The heavyweight division is looking for a PPV coup after a relatively weak performance for last month’s clash between Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz. Wilder’s knockout win over his rival generated less than 300,000 PPV buys in the U.S., according to BoxingScene.com.
