What is a good barbell row ?

I've been doing 205lbs for reps of 8-10, strict form underhand grip lately.

Feels pretty good 2 me man... i'll be strict rowing 2 plates soon which I'm personally happy about. No Swinging.

Yes that’s good if the form is as good as you claim and if you can row two plates of with full rom and are lean there is no way your back won’t shown it. I barbell row 185 for 3 sets of 10 I’m 165-175lbs depending on how much I’m yo yoing around. It is also a great deadlift accessory.

This is very good. What's your 40 yard dash time?
Ran 6.94 handtimed in the 60m dash this year at 6'0 and 205. Translates to 10.9 hand timed at 6'0 and 205. That translates to 11.6 FAT (fully automatically timed) in the 100meter dash at 6'0 and 205. Power to weight ratio is getting better.

Underhand Grip? I use the overhand grip. I do Back and Biceps on different days and the underhand grip hits the biceps a lot more than I'd like.

    But good weight.

200+ for reps is decent. 275+ is damn good, 350+ is elite level. This all being strict with 30-45ish* torso, not damn near upright like a shrug/row hybrid.

I did squats yesterday but if my lower back isn't feeling tight I'll see what I can get this evening on strict rows.

Rows are hard for me due to surgery I've had, horizontal pulls **** with it.

But yesterday I knocked out 3 sets of 5 rep hammer grip pullups with 90lbs hanging from me.

Decided to do some rows this evening thanks to this thread. Haven't done barbell rows other than pendlays in quite a while, was fun. Hit 205×8 then 155×16 for my backdown set.

    This is good.

My back muscles have never developed due to constantly being in distance running or 400 meter dashes from 1993 till 2015. You're probably better at this than I am.

Thanks for the video. I'm going to have to try them like Coan does at 3:20 to try and get my back to finally develop.

My back is still in lactic acid shock from the lactic acid accumulation effect of distance running. Basically being in a constant lactic acid state for 22 years straight prevented my back from growing out.

My back should have been as strong as Bugenhagens back. But distance running ruined it.
