Being able to slaughter an animal for meat is historically the domain of the wealthy. It doesn't promise lavish wealth and a life of leisure, and in fact encourages diligence, austerity, and frugality. The image of Abraham Lincoln growing up in a log cabin and splitting wood to earn a living is a textbook manifestation. Knowing struggle but being responsible and persevering is taken as evidence of virtue.

American Prosperity Gospel does build on that, but runs away with it in a different direction, and suggests that if somebody has the means to kick back in the sun in a mansion, it must be because God rewarded them for their faith. Analyzing the means is unnecessary, because a just God would not have let them prosper.
