My first guess was a Bundle branch block but you said EKG was normal so my next guess is Atrial Fibrillation. Classic representation of heart flutter and chest pains.
Do you have sleep apnea?
Aside from the obvious, do any of these ring a bell?
Palpitations, which are sensations of a racing, uncomfortable, irregular heartbeat or a flip-flopping in your chest
Weakness
Reduced ability to exercise
Fatigue
Lightheadedness
Dizziness
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Edit...well, EKG would confirm a-fib but i thgink the docs would be looking for BBB , myocardial infarctions and other things of the like“That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.” - The Nameless City by HP Lovecraft

I had similar thing going on for about a year. Also really weird tingling and numbness in arms. And the worst part is over night it was like all the sudden I couldnt even walk up a flight of stairs without legs feeling like I just did 45 squats and getting a headache everytime I worked out. Used to bother me really bad I'd go to ER and they would say all is normal.
I got the following tests;
EKG x5
About every bloodwork you can imagine
CT scan
MRI of Brain, Cervical, Lumbar and some other ****. Basically brain to cawk they MRI'd
Did an echo Cardiogram for blood flow.
Started saying fuk it. I'd lay down at night thinkin if I wake up I wake up, if not I wont even know lol.
Finally doctor said it was because I have celiac disease and need to eat gluten free. Did some research and saw rare cases of nervous system issues and chest pain with celiac. Went fully gluten free and **** went away. Even now if i eat gluten like 12 hours later all the symptoms come back. Probably not what is wrong with you but it was very frustrating and quality of life was about a zero when all this **** was going on.

Op your bp isn’t bad
Are you tachycardic?
At least if they admit you, the cardiac units are the nicest and more likely private room. They just don’t give you salt.
Hope your ok op, is your cholesterol in check normally?SuperHercules crew

well, a-fib is often times just a symptom of something else. It can even be caused by a vit D deficiency. I would imagine that they will treat your symptoms (palpitations and angina) and then send you to a cardiologist to discuss other things and probably do another EKC and other stress tests. If possible, opt to a physical stress test and not a chemical stress test (where they inject you with some chemical concoction to artificially get your heart going as if you were running or lifting heavy or something)

OP, make sure you leave with a referral to see a cardiologist. Your BP isn't outlandishly high but, as you say, it's high for you (likely caused by the stress of the pain and being in the ER). Heart flutters can be benign. I feel gor that little girl's family. Let's hope she didn't ingest something toxic and it's a simple stomach bug

Could be this. OP said he benched 3 days ago. Chances are his muscle fibers and sternum ligaments are recovering and producing occasional tingling/sharp sensations that last very brief moments.
I did squats and upper body on Friday and Sunday, and went to primary care on wednesday because I had chest sharpness/spasms/tremors and thought I had strep because I had a cold at the same time. It was the same exact sensation I had in my pelvic region when I did squats in a different time. So mid check up they mentioned if I worked out, and i said "ohh yeah you're totally right, disregard my complaint of chest pain". And it went away the next day or so. I still had a cold but atleast not strep or a respiratory infection.
The sensation would be felt like once every 30 minutes for a quick moment. Sometimes several in a short period. If it's persistent it can be torn or cardiovascular indeed.
Chances are he just went ham and his muscle fibers and the ligaments around the ribcage and sternum are recovering and creating odd sharp sensations.
If it is heart related it will take over a day to get results back from endocardiography where they will take 240+ pictures of your heart via ultrasound.Last edited by Natty99; 12-05-2019 at 11:46 PM.

There are 400+ types of anemia but i'm assuming you mean iron defficient. Interesting because I am also iron deficient. You'll need at least 2 checks on your iron to confirm anemia though because it can appear to be low but not actually low. Your GP will probably do the follow up test. Depending on how low your iron counts are, you'll probably have to do a fecal smear test where you smear your chit on these small test cards and give them back to your doc where they will send them to a lab so test them for blood to make sure you arent losing blood through your intestines. If not, then you just need to eat more beef, organ meet and cruciferous veggies. I just went through all this a month or so ago

Do you drink?
Do you have a lot of heart burn? Or ibs
Been on antibiotics lately?
Eggs, salmon and lean steak. Chicken isn’t a complete protein. Rice and beans, iron supplement. There might be another issue causing it. A normal diet shouldn’t have this issue. How anemic are you? Are they admitting you?Last edited by snailsrus; 12-06-2019 at 12:08 AM.

I used to drink a lot, but haven't for a long time. 1 or 2 beers a week now
Eggs, quinoa and smoked salmon for breakfast, or either oatmeal or cereal with almond milk.
No coffee or tea.
Lunch is either steak, salmon or chicken with either rice, yams or potatoes with veggies (either broc or cauliflower, carrots, peas and way too many onions)
Dinner is same as lunch but switch up the carbs and proteins.
No sweets.
Snack on mix of pistachios, cashews or almonds with sunflower seeds and raisins.
Other than salting my steak before grilling, no other salt added to my food.
I have my own cozy room right now, they want to do another round of bloodwork
