Dem majority whip on impeachment: "I expect to lose some Democrats."

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...peachment-vote

Rep. Jim Clyburn, one of the top Democrats in the House, admitted that he expected some members of his party to vote against the upcoming articles of impeachment.
CNN anchor John Berman then asked if Clyburn, the House majority whip, expected to lose members of his party.

"Well, we do expect to lose some, and that’s why I say it is a conscious vote," Clyburn responded.

Well, I think they work it out that way. With any difficult controversial votes, the political leaders will figure out the votes needed to pass. Votes not required will be able to vote against. That way politicians in more difficult to win districts will be able to tell their voter they were against such and such bill.

If that politicians vote was required, most likely the leadership would get it.

If there is bipartisan support for not impeaching, and only those radical dems in the house vote to impeach.... then it only strengthens the argument that this is a political trial without real evidence of a crime.

If the dems can’t even be unified in the nonsense, the whole thing is a joke.

This is funny because the spin the state run media is trying to convince us of is that "Trump just guaranteed his own impeachment" and that the Dems have no choice and it's just a matter of principles

Yet even Dems aren't gonna vote for it?

Let's be honest, the goal of a politician is to ***win reelection*** so a vote against "something/anything" that could cause them to lose at home is a no brainer.
sums it up a thread will start off promising and then turn into name calling..

But isn't this impeachment about "saving democracy"?

If even one democrat votes against it in self interest, then what does that mean?

It means they need the money and the job.
Safe districts can vote how they "feel"

Getting reelected is job 1 and raising money to get reelected is job 2.

    vote day isn't here yet.
    uhhh that is 100% correct.
If voting to impeach will ruin their chances for reelection then the majority of people do not want impeachment.

you can try to spin it anyway you want but those are the facts.

Not sure how many States are close, but close enough. Those dems that won the House last time was on passing legislation that helped their States and one of the pieces is the USMCA. The dems will most likely lose those States for failed promises. It won't help their presidential prospects, either.

There is a ton of big legislature on the docket and the dems refuse to move on any of it. USMCA is expected to add 150K-200K jobs and give us huge leverage in our negotiations with the EU and China. Lower drug prices helps all of us. The list goes on... and they are chasing after ghosts that not even the entirety of their own party can get behind?

How anyone could vote for a dem this next election cycle is beyond me.

Would you like to entertain some of the more embarrassing things you've said or supported?

We can start with the Trump is 007 Russian Agent Puppet.. lol @ "chit is embarrasing." You are a tool, stop saying chit like that after we just witnessed you eat far left garbage as you support a collapsing DNC that is about to rig their primaries again.
