You can’t even spell ‘Harbaugh’ and you’re a 49ers homer. Your opinion is irrelevant.

Jimmy G is an average starter, but he’s much better than Delvin Hodges and Mason Rudolph. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put those pieces together.
I'm probably the biggest 49ers criticizer here in terms of fans.

How did the 49ers OFFENSE do last year without Jimmy G? Way better than Steeler's OFFENSE is doing this year. Now, how was the 49ers DEFENSE last year in comparison to Steeler's DEFENSE this year? Horrible.

But yeah, it's all about the record, there's no context.

The 49ers hate and discredit for what Shanahan has done is mind boggling, and that's coming from me who has been a critic this year of Jimmy G. You guys have no real arguments, you just discredit everything that is said and say "Well lol homers"

But Tomblin 100% absolutely ZERO CHANCE at coach of the year

Honestly how stupid do you have to put 2 and 2 together?

The reason Tomlin is getting love for his coaching is cuz the team is winning despite the injuries.

    You with me?

The injuries are on the offense side of the ball...

You bringing up Shanahan not being able to win many games last year with his backup QB and skill players completely and conveniently ignores the fact that the 49ers defense was at the bottom of the league.

Give the 49ers a defense like Tomlin has this year with the same players on offense and there’s no doubt the team produces much better on offense and wins more games as a result.

I love how people here want to make these comparisons and conveniently forget critical aspects in doing so. How about give Tomlin the same defense the 49ers had last year and see how he does then?

Tomlin doesn’t call his defensive plays, he doesn’t call his offensive plays. Before Colbert traded for Fitzpatrick his great coaching with Ben healthy was giving them and 0-2 record and a team giving up 30 points per game.

One win vs a team with a winning record at this point. I guess this is what impressive to people these days.

    Not to me.

People also seem to forget last year how hard the 49ers were playing people. There were 6-7 games where we lost by 1 score. Imagine having a defense that could get some stops? We could have been 8-8, 9-7 easily. We weren't playing like a 4-12 team

Hey everybody it looks like the best OFFENSE wins the Super Bowl every year. Wins, losses? Who gives a **** about those.

The 49ers only have 3, and they damn near lost to the Steelers even with Rudolph having an atrocious game. Quit acting like the 49ers are beating up on everybody, they couldn’t even beat Seattle at home and still have to go play them at Century Link.

And you keep talking about how great the Steelers defense is as if the 49ers aren’t 2nd in the league in ppg this season.

Just when I thought Tomlin got a leg up, Shanahan had to go all crazy and beat the Saints at home. Some of those offensive plays were wild.

Dude is too stupid to follow simple logic.

And I love how he brings up 49ers "nearly" losing to the Steelers(despite them turning the ball over 5 times) and then acts like the 49ers didn't lose by 3 points in OT missing key players against Seattle.

5 wins against teams with a winning record this year. 2-1 in a stretch of games that has never been done before in league history where one team plays 3 straight games against teams with 10+ wins at this point in the year.

    Not impressive though.

Yeah that was an impressive win at NO, they finally had their signature win for the year.

And the only person too stupid to follow logic is you. Lets see Shanahan make the playoffs with a backup QB, hell even be in the race to make the playoffs 13 games into the season. The wheels fell off for the 49ers last season once Jimmy G went down, that’s on coaching.

Hey retard they lost their QB and number 1 WR.

Stop trying to compare the situation to Timmy's, it's not even close.

Rothlisberger was the QB for over a decade, not some Timmy who just came in off the street some ridiculous contract he hasn't even come close to showing he's worthy of.

Am i being trolled? Let's see Tomlin win a game with a backup QB and the 28th D in points allowed.
The defense underperforming boils down to poor coaching. Obviously the talent was somewhat there if they’re the 2nd ranked team in ppg this season.

Its obvious Shanahan couldn’t keep his guys focused last year once Jim got hurt.

Any chance players like Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander, Dre Greenlaw actually added to the defensive talent while young talent they had matured? Everyone following the team knew they needed edge rushers bad.

They added two great ones in the offseason. Unlike Tomlin who has Kevin Colbert making all the decisions, Shanahan is the top guy as far as talent aquistion for the niners.

Sounds like he deserves GM of the year.

Still doesn't deserve coach of the year over Tomlin, Timmy.

So according to you he made a good point by saying the team struggled to focus for 13 straight games because Jimmy got hurt. If he’s that meaningful to the team it seems like he’s invaluable. He must be truly great despite everything you say.

Right...cuz being 11-2 with all the injuries the 49ers have this year means Shanahan hasn’t been able to coach as well as the great Mike Tomlin?

I've searched a number of articles looking for where it says that Shanahan "is the top guy as far as talent acquistion for the niners" and I couldn't find anything but articles mentioning Lynch making the moves, particularly the ones on the defensive side of the ball. The only article I saw that mentioned anything about Shanahan having any say in "talent acquistion" was the Sanders trade this season.

Care to share your sources that say Shanahan is both the head coach and general manager?

Let's not pretend that the players iamretard listed were some rare gem finds by the 49ers organization. Nick Bosa was generally regarded as the best talent in last year's draft. Every team and scout knew Bosa's elite talent and potential. 49ers were lucky to have the 2nd pick to get him. Dee Ford is one of the best rushers in the league and has years of stats to prove that. Again, not a rare gem trade made there. I'll give him Alexander as he was having one of his better seasons before getting injured. Greenlaw was a 5th round pick that was fortunate enough to be a decent "next man up" type player.

Here's what NFL.com had to say about the Ford trade that I found interesting:
Ford joins linebacker Kwon Alexander as part of 49ers general manager John Lynch's efforts to improve a defense that finished the 2018 season ranked 13th overall.
    1) NFL says John Lynch made that move and 2) 49ers defense ranked 13th in 2018 yet they went 4-12. iamretard made it seem like they were awful. They weren't. Shanahan just couldn't do better than 4-12.

I'm not saying Shanahan shouldn't be in consideration for COTY. I'm just pointing out how much of a homer iamretard is being.

Not sure you’re going to find any quotes where Lynch is saying Shanahan is in charge of all offensive personnel but it’s been the conventional wisdom around this team.

Here’s an article tough explaining how in 2017 Shanahan wanted to draft a running back at the beginning of the fourth round and he wasn’t even on the Lynch‘a big board and they ended up taking him.

I'm saying it doesn't compare to what Tomlin's doing.

As I said earlier, Rothlisberger was THE QB for Pittsburgh, Timmy G just came in.

AB was regarded as debatable the top WR in the NFL.

Not hard to fathom that an offense was far more centered around those guys than 49'ers offense was/is around Bustoppolo

Genus taking almost as bad a beating ITT as the time he claimed he could read a defense better than Brett Favre.

LOL, wow this whole Tomlin vs. Shanahan is still going on.....

This is all probably going to end up being for nothing because Harbaugh will most likely win the award due to the Raven's success + Lamar's incredible growth from year 1 to year 2. Jimmy G was paid like a top QB, so if the 49ers were anything less than contenders, they'd be a disappointment.

Say what you will about who's really responsible for the Raven's success, when your the head coach you take the beating when the team is losing, so you're going to get the credit when the team is winning as well.
