Hey guys, was wondering if protein from beans like chick peas, or red beans, would be sufficient for muscle growth?
I'm currently dealing with post-concussion syndrome, i've been out of a job for 7 months, and so don't have a source of income, so money is tight, just ran out of whey protein, I ordered more in bulk but it could take several weeks to get to me. But i've got all these beans in my cupboards was thinking of using it as my source of protein for now. If not I might go out and buy skim milk and cereal.

Yes the protein from beans is enough for muscle growth. Just make sure you get enough total protein. If you're not eating meat I would go with at least 0.8 gram protein per lb.

Is tinned tuna cheap over there? I always thought it seemed the case everywhere. Here, tuna and mackeral in tins is quite cheap for the less-known brands anyways.
MyProtein site sell cheap protein powder and they pretty much always have offers on.
Also, peanut butter and nuts are good. Eggs too are mostly cheap. Just shop around until you can find a few different sources of food. Beans are fine, but you may find a time you'll struggle to eat them every single day.I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

I'm limited to the stores I can go to because of my concussion symptoms. The nearby grocery stores are pretty expensive for tuna and eggs unfortunately. it's like $8 for 6 cans of tuna. and $5 for 12 eggs. meat is actually alright on sale at my nearby grocery store but I just get so addicted to it. I don't think i'm thinking straight because of my injury lol. Once I buy something I just keep spending everyday.
actually the tuna is not bad. $8 for 6 cans. a can should have about 40g of protein i'm guessing. might buy it tmr. nvm 2 bucks a can. still goodLast edited by 2RDEYE; 12-04-2019 at 12:42 PM.
